  1. What the title says. I'm in need of buying a second Hfi2000d for my new system and thought I'd see if any used ones were for sale b4 I went and bought a new one (even tho new their only 200...) Still rather spend the least I can. Of course, if your trusted I pay first obviously. ^_^ Anyways just let me know! :)

Edit: ALso looking for 2 l7 12 dual2 ohm ^_^ thats random but just a thought, like I said, If i can save money I will (except refurbished, i'll never go refurbished...) lol!

  2. Response to all, Also big creeper vans with curtains on all windows, Ect. But seeing as you all made it clearer, I think the cop was just being a douche to my cousin lol, he had 4 15s walled in a silverado, cop said take it out or next time a ticket, But Imma wall it, Sounds interesting, First wall, Guaranteed right specs, and its a wall! lol. I still have a lot to decide tho. And I haven't tinted my windows yet, going for 10%. I'm blind as it is lol. 10% all 20% front glass I think is what I was told to do, dun remember. lol

Edit: Also walling It I can keep my seat room and not be like molesting my steering wheel o.O

Edit Edit: How accurate is Torres Box calculator?

Edit Edit Edit:! Going in as Diamonds not squares! Gonna look nice^_^ This time my box will be finished and not bare like my last.

Charlesdylancobb=my youtube if you wanna see last, in those vids my truck was kinda dirty tho x.x soo pay no mind to that^_^

  3. Ooops I suposed I failed to mention something, The 4x subs will not be going across the cab. It'll be

    O || O

    O || O <--- like that

That is pretty much a wall at that point. Wall that bad boy, and do a center port. That $h!t will get loud quick.

Yea Square port 7 inches each side, 10 inches or so deep into the box, in the center of the 4x subs, From other boxes simular, I'd say I think it will do well

  4. are you gonna run a stock alt? or are you gonna upgrade it?

i would recommend like two group 31 batteries along with a battery under the hood with 0 gauge all around.

edit: maybe you can get away with one group 31 and one under the hood. i dont know, im not a battery expert.

I have a H/O 220 amp already in it o.O stock one was 75 amps ^_^ And for the batteries, I'm not a expert either xD!

  5. Next question - Half wall of 4 12L7s. I don't think that 4 12L7s will fit in a flat wall in an s10. I think the dimensions were around 46 inches, but I havent measured an s10 for subs in a while, and only had 1 extended cab.

Next question was about dual amp wiring. Super simple, just do the power stuff twice. I would run from the rear battery using ring terminals, so no distribution block is needed. You can daisy chain the remotes no problem. You can use y-splitters for the RCAs, or see if the output on the amp is a full pass through.

Next question dealt with box design. Like I mentioned before, I would put the batteries and amps on the floor, and create a false floor for the box to sit on. Once you do that, you can see how much room you have for the box and make it to fit with the required air space. If they will fit side by side from wall to wall, that would be pretty awesome, I am just not sure of what it measures wall to wall.

For the first one, I have it measured, only covers 2 inches of my rear glass and 45 inches wide, and seems like It will work. Do not know tho. My 18s box was 40 wide, 22 tall, 19 deep. Have this one for 4 12s 45 wide, 26 tall, and 16 deep I think, do not remember their all on my laptop, on desktop atm. and a Y splitter? and if you mean full pass as in from amp to amp rcas, It has 4x RCA slots on amp (not good with technical stuff) and wall to wall, left to right I think, if I remember, 48 inches. I can fit 46np. Taking the 3rd seat out like I said, builting a little rack inside that for 2nd battery if it does not fit my First spot, and the False floor would be No problem for my amp, put a thinner peice of wood on floor so vents on bottom will not be blocked, and give it a few inches. amps would fit in the dipped down spots easily only raising the box about 1/2 a inch from non lifted place

  6. I am trying to wrap my head around the original post.

    S10 - I am guessing extended cab?

First question I think you asked was if the L7s could handle 1000 Watts each.

They are rated at 750 Watts, so they should be ok, just turn it down if it starts to smell.

Second question was about making more room for amps/batteries. I would put them under the box and create a false floor for the subs. A little harder to access, but much cleaner when it is done.

Third question has to do with an isolator. I would recommend if you are going this far with a build, you should go with the same agm batteries front and back, so an isolator is not needed, unless you play the system for extended periods of time with the truck off.

I will come back to more once I put the steaks on the grill.

Yes ext. cab. And yea I didn't think a 250 increase in watts would hurt much, and if i kept volume under the smell point then ya. And yea I also planned that, Taking a large sheet of paper cutting out out the shape of the back of the cab and cutting a mdf board to match that and putting the amps under it, and painting or carpeting to make it look like its supposed to be there. and for the isolator I am buying a XS Power D3100 5000 Amp battery, If it fits in my cars battery place, I'll just replace my 850 amp wiff it. says up to 5000 watts (dunno how true that is) but i can guarentee it'll power at least most of it, including the trucks regular electricity usage. And I rarely play it without my car started so Isolator would be voided if I did that. Just need to make sure it fits the spot. If not.. make it fit.. lol

  7. I have thought of blow through many times. And honestly that would make everything 400x easier, 10x the space. ect. And chances are in the future, I will. This is daily driver, so atm I'm limited. Also just started new job, so I'll be bringing a lot more in, so a blow through could be a possibility. And you just gave me an idea lol. Through these 2 in there temporarily till I get the means for a blow through. Never done a blow through before, and havent even seen one in person, and comments on what type of box i should do? I picture it as, big hole going to bed with subs going down the side. 2 on each side. facing each other, with a port for each side at the end. But I would have 0 idea of how to tune a box like that o.O (deff putting Leds down it if i do that.) Also know anywhere that sells s10 bed covers that are white, hard, and sealed? :P (dun like the cloth ones. and possible lockable if thats possible. lol. but thats a great idea lol.

Edit: Shopping cart atm for 2x sub, battery, amp

Subtotal (3 items): US $1,123.69 Shipping to 71913: FREE s.gifTotal:

    US $1,123.69

Not going to be a cheap project lol!

  8. Alright so I had 2 RE SX 18s. Only had room for one in the truck, traded them strait across for 2 l7 12s (didn't say i got the better end of that deal but I needed something smaller and noone local wants 18s they want kicker because I'm in a area where people think audio all they know is pioneer and kicker, uh annoying...) but anyways. I'm buying 2 more l7 12s. Going for 4 l7 12s. on 2 Hifonics hfi2000d (2000rms 1ohm blah blah) going to have 1000 per sub basically, Does anyone see any problem with l7 12s handling that? Also anyone with a S10 extended cab know any ways of making extra room for amps and another battery? I plan on going with a xs power battery for sub, also another question. Stinger battery isolators good? I'm sure they are but has anyone owned one or any comments on them? Negative or positive. Anyways what I'm going for is a half wall of 4x L7 12 dual 2 ohm, 4000 watts. Anyone see any problem with that?o.O As for the amps. I have never done a 2x amp installation. The way I understand (99% chance that I'm wrong) but from observation, Run remote from Amp1 to Amp2. Do grounds and power wire separate (or should I distribution block it?) Well I know grounds are best independent but 2 Amps on 1 Xs battery(havent decided which yet, but will not be a small one). That would cause any problem or would it be best to run the powers together like in a distribution block like i said? I mainly need pointers, how to keep it most efficient. Like I said, very new to this, no schooling, no previous experience except the system I just took out (SX18s are really loud considering the price). And for the box. Minimum for 4x 12s would be 7ft^3 internal. I have 8 ft. for my 18 box so ik it will fit in a half wall. I have a box currently, for 2x 12 on each side of box. with a 7x7 square port with a lenth of 10'' tuned at 33.5hz. 7.26 ft^ internal, 7.7 external. Double baffle. Does this sound, reasonable? As far as the tuning/specs wise. Ik this seems jumbled up and a bunch of random questions, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few questions but keep in mind, I'm new. Also any comments on L7s? And for the S10 owners, anything I can remove to give me more space? Taking the 3rd seat out tomorrow, for battery and possibly place to build a amp rack on. And have my jack in a bag in passenger floorboard so I could get that think out of the way.

Other random things. 14.4 volts charging, 12v rest ofc.

    Big 3 is done

    I installed a 220 amp alternator when I put the 18 in.

This is a 2001 S10 Ext. cab xtreme(gayest name ever but looks nice) (except got in a car accident a bit back, slowing this system down a bit but still going to get fixed, was their fault.)

Everything as far as power wires, grounds, will be 0 Guage. And going with 10 guage speaker because I do not thing these L7s push terminals can hold 8 guage in them, No 8 guage on me so Idk lol.

Anyways comments, answers to questions, anything is highly appreciated. Try keeping them friendly, but if you cannot refrain, what can I do? xD anyways thanks to anyone that answers! :D

  9. Ok so I was planning on getting 2 Sa-8 v.2's here in a week, and I plan on installing them inverted (motor structure visible, cone inside box...) and I'm not here to ask the same question the 500 other people have asked on google, which is does it make it louder. No my question is, I also read someone say that theirs sounded like shit, ok, there's gotta be something wrong with install. Someone responded with reversing the polarity. I have never heard that before, nor have I really looked into inverted much, especially since now im running a 18 in a ext. cab daily driving s-10 lol. So my question being does installing inverted like that, need reversed polarity? That totally threw me off.
