  1. Inverting your subs gives you a little more airspace, and in turn lowers the tuning, and increases the efficiency. But only by a smidgen, unless you have something with a freeking 80 pount motor or something lol.

It might sound slightly deeper, and maybe a tiny bit louder, but the lower tuning might cancel the little bit of efficiency you'll gain.

But pretty much, it wont change much, and if it does, it'll either be barely noticed or not noticeable at all.

Yea that's what I said, then he wants to say I obviously know nothing. They are kicker cvrs lol it's not going to make a big change. My sa-8 v.2 has a bigger motor

  2. whats the displacement on those woofers? .2 cubes combined. I highly doubt its going to be any louder. especailly in a kicker prefab thats tuned high as hell. A box made for those subs. in theory a bigger box will be more effective if you are underpowering. it also has its disadvantages. and with those rinky dinks i dont think its going to make a whole lot of difference. you can only polish a turd so much.

Oh and every person on that fucking facebook posting needs to learn how to fucking type.

I was on my ipod lol coudnt type worth shit

  3. All inverting the subs does, is gives more box volume because of loss of speaker displacement, which "in theory" makes the box "bigger" due to lack of displacement, but only that. I have seen a buddy invert his 10's and it did make them hit a bit differently, but I wouldn't say it was "louder". Maybe just more clear and deeper. Just my thought, but I'm not 100% knowledged on the subject.

And IMHO Being older means nothing. Hell, I just started researching car audio in depth when I turned 29... I'm 30 now and I don't know everything. I'm learning though :)

yea i know thats what i was saying that the box would have more internal cubes and that would change the tunning

  4. LOL!! What a dumb ass. So he thinks a bigger box = louder? and here we all are buying bigger subs and more powerful amps and all we needed was a bigger box. :fool:

Yea i know i was lmao

LOL.....wish I knew everything he does but guess I'm not old enough yet.

yea he thinks because he is older he knows more, and that if your younger than him, then you dont know anything

  5. I used birch for my box, i did my research and went with it, its stronger then mdf but more expensive but well worth it. i would go with 3/4 birch if i was you, man

they should have it at lowes thats where i got mine, you could look at my box build to see what its like working with it. and it was my first build to so you could get a good idea of it

  6. If you can face the sub fireing forward that would be best but you would have to completely seal the trunk off and use some sound damp, there's a few guys on this forum that could design a box for you if you give them the max dementions or if you wanna pay for one you can go to like ram designs.com
