hi there i have a db audio 15'' xtinct,i was playing it loud a few days ago until i noticed a loud rattling sound,i went to check the sub and it sounded like tinsel slap,so i took the sub out of the box and noticed the spider has come apart from the cone.as i know this can be fixed.what glue could be ideal for this?

Ive actually been thinking, you can make your own passive crossover boards that will make it exactly how you want it, lp at 4k hp at 100-120 for mids and hp at 4k for tweets... Or for mid sub/mid/tweet setup, 100-300 300-4000 then 4000+ all in one board, it's all about how much time/ how much cash you want spend..
ok im confused:S u knw when u said id need an high pass around 120/240 on mids and tweeters 4k did u mean thts wht it shud be set to on the amp

You would need a high pass set at like 120-240 for mids and high pass set at like 4k? For tweets
i dont know,i need help.i think someones trying to make their money and hustle me,im not convinced on doing this, what sohuld i do?stick to crossovers?

You don't want the mids on full range, they aren't needed to create low frequncys that's what subs are for, but yes if done correctly it would sound better where as the staging would be a little better, I will be running all of mine active when I get to that point
thts wht iv been told by someone who is advising me to buy a 4 channel and wire them directly,he said mids on full range but i told him ur mids r suppose to be on low pass
-
You can, you would just have to use the amp as the crossover.. Read up on active crossovers and such, the search button is your friend... You would have to use a 4ch and run mid woofers to ch 1/2 and tweets to 3/4 of have a separate amp for each
yes i know, tweeters would run of the high pass and mids on full range.will i get beeter sound ?

thanks for the advice guys....
btw whats the best way to amp mids and highs, atm im running crossovers with my components to an amplifier.would ot sound better if i took crossovers off and connected nids and high directl to amplifier?

I've jus put the box bk in and it was pounding,It was harsh on the ears, sounded a lot better becoz I upgraded my wiring from 4to 0 gauge.got to say I was impressed.I thought it wud sound worse.

If it were me I would build a new box when you can...mdf swells and looses a lot of its integrity when it gets wet. If you are worried about it with a new box you can always put resin on it to help make it resistant to moisture. Good luck man!
i dont even know how to build a box lol,but i am thinking on getting a new one made but before i do im gna put the box back in my trunk and see how it sounds,if it sound the same i might aswel use it til its had enough...thanks alot for the advice anywy man.

most likely you have affected the wood to a point the box will be begin to tear apart...its most likely going to start leaking after a while.. mdf+water=bad news bears

hey guys, just wanted to ask a quick question? ive recently found a leak in the trunk of my car,and my subwoofer box is swelling up quite bad.i took it out one day and realised the mdf has lifted up a little,so i took it out and figured out where the leak was coming from and sealed most of it so i decided to put the box back in.a day later i chekd to see if they were any leaks and there was so i took the box out again and sealed my trunk once more with some carbond and then tested if water would get through and since then my trunk has been dry.for time being my box has been at home,so i decided to have a look if it had dried and the wood has started to flare out a little and the areas tht had lifted up have developed little cracks.will this affect the sound in any way?
