  1. ye man, was only getting some footage to test new cam there's a few more trials videos of me on there, jus go on my profile thing and watch them, they are proper vids, not jus clips:)
  2. yoo, this is what i do when I'm not bumping:) not anything speshial it was just a little ride for the new camera cus i wanted to try it in imovie:) comment please.
  3. yoo, here is a lil vid i made a while ago........ comments? cheers Beckett.
  4. i haven't aclue what that is, the alt has the stock wiring etc on it?., ( i haven't put anything on the alt wiring or anything bro) these are readings of a power cap? so maybe that is why its high, the battery measures about 14.4
  5. right today i have jus finished fitting 0/1 guage wire from the 'B+' on the alt to battery positive:) i was shocked to find that there was only those 3 wires as stated above:O (therewas another wire, but that was either a little fuse or something like that) i didn't connect anything tp the 'w' connection cus i didn't know what oit was. i have noticed a big difference.......before it was at 14.9-14.8 when car was on(no revs)and no music. when i was bumping with no revs it would drop to like 14.4-14.5-14.6 area. now when engine is on and no revs it is at 14.9-15.0, and when bumpin it's at 14.9-14.8. it was fairly warm when i wqs bumpin testing these out, so i'll check it again when i go out this evening when it shud be a bit cooler:) this was what my power cap was reading:) any comments? btw what its the 'w' connection for? and it is correct to connect from b+ to pos on bat ye? lol cheeeeers:)
  6. Hi does any body know how to sort this problem out? i now have a relay thing and 2 wires comin of of that.... one to each amp. thanks......
  7. also when i turn the car engine off, there is a pop from all the door speakers(the woofers move once) is this because of my remote wire? i have put a second wire onto the remote on the 1st amp and ran that to the second amp. is that not a good idea? should i split the wire or what would be best ? thanks
  8. cheers for the help man:) i set the speakers and everything up today. and OMFG it is sooooo damn good! i had the crossover on HP (front and rear) (all speakjers are in front doors) the woofers was hardly moving? except 1, that was moving more than the rest :S lol. then i set it to 'FLAT' and all the woofers move at the same time etc they move afair bit too! is there like a really good way to set the amp, or is the flat setting for all 4 speakers good enough? i have the frequency set like abit pas half way. one last question, on the crossover for the speakers it has alight bulb that goes on when too much poewer goes to the tweets. it has been doing that a bit today. is that not gunna damage the tweets or nothing? i have now turnt the treble on the HU down to -2 or sommin and it isn't comin on much more. cheeeeers for the help:) Beckett
  9. thanks for that sir, i am now understanding how componant sets work now btw, i haven't got them wired up to my HU any more, i was just testing them out kinda. this is the amp i will be using and these are the RF speakers 4 of them RF speakers and my typr-r will be the only speakers in the car.... how should i set the amp to power the speakers? it says the amp "comes outfitted with two variable 12dB per octave electronic crossovers allowing you to optimize system tuning based on speaker location and accompanying loudspeaker components." thanks so much for help guys
  10. i have the crossover connected up to the head unit 50 watt out put temporarilly(until i recieve my new amp) i had the left and right one wired up, i disconnected the woofer at the crossover, and i could only slightly hear the tweeter, it was like there isnt much power going into them? they are 70 rms(the componant set) so if i was to wire it up to the amp at 70 would the tweeters have more life? i could deffinately tell that most of the vocals were coming from the woofer, and only slightly a bit from the tweeter, is this because the frequency settings from the head unit or is that normal? (i would have thort the vocals would come from tweeter, and mid bass etc plays through the woofer?) what is a good frequency to set the amp to when i put these speakers to the amp? thanks .soorry that is a bit rushed etc lol EDIT ye one of the tweeters had bad wiring where i had to connect the new wire to the tweeter wire. DOH lool
  11. hi i have a RF 2 way component set, i was wanting to know hoe the tweeters work? i put my ear right next to them and i cudn't hear anything coming out of them? it seemed as tho it was only coming out of the woofer? or can you not hear the tweeters from close up or something?
  12. i went onto itunes then i went into 'preferences', then i went on the 'playback' section, and there is this button to click called 'sound check' under that is says- 'automatically adjusts songs playback to same level' would this sorta make all the songs the same level? i mean like 'my' lets say 'gangsta music by YJ' the bass isnt very powerful i think, compared to like 'my' 'hypnotise' or 'thug motivation' so will they all sorta play at the same kinda level now be as powerful as each other?? cheers
  13. quite a lot of my songs play at different levels, was wondering if there was anything that could be done on itunes(MAC version) to make all the songs play at same volume? i find if i listen to say hypnotise, then a song that isnt as loud then i find it ruins listening to that song i play all the songs from my ipod, into my alpine HU. a lot of the songs are from limewire etc. any help/comments? cheers Beckett
  14. them 3 clip things are the only wires connected, and i have my stereo pn with 4 speakers and a sub goin at 787rms and it seems fine, jus i wanted to put thicker wire on there so i DO need to connec 1/0 AWG to the B+ on the alt, and run that to the +on the battery under the boot?? cheers guys for the help
  15. why you want that for, there both the same? it's gone midnight over here now. i'll take some tomoro
  16. to that one yea? (B+ is written behind it, can kinda be seen in pic)
  17. the stock wiring is in that 3clip terminal bit, i reckon it will be difficult to get the 1/0 wire connected up to that. What are the B+ and W terminals all about? surely that B+ is to connect to the battery??
  18. they are exactly the same man, same connections and all that. i jus bought a new alt and got it upgraded to 140Amps. i have it wired up and everything, its just i want to do the big 3, and i am not sure wherer to connect the 1/0awg wire to the alt.... these are the only wires that connect to the alt, and i couldnt tell which one was which wire . what is that ' B+ ' and the ' W ' terminals on the alt for? cheers sorry for any confusion.
  19. right i have got my new 140 amp alternator fitted to the car, i was wondering where to connect the 1/0 awg wire to? here is a pic of the old stock alt, (new ones same, just upgraded) when i connected the original wires to the alt i used this bit of the alt; ( the 3-clip connection bit) i was wondering if i needed to connect the 1/0 awg wire to this? (the B+ connection terminal thing) what is the 'W' connection terminal for? (this) if i do need to connect the new wire to the B+ connection, do i run that to the positive battery terminal under the bonnet yea? (i have a 44AH stock battery under bonnet, and a 120AH deep cycle gel battery wired parrelel in the boot. please explain to me in here where i should connect the new wires too? use my pictures to make it extremely easy and clear: cheers guys appreciate any help
  20. that 120 amp battery is all good, and it's good to be used the electricians at work say to run wires from the 1st battery under the bonnet to the second battery in the boot (pos to pos, and neg to neg) and run the amp/subs of the battery in the boot, and the 140 amp alternator should charge both batteries up has any body done it this way before? i dont really wanna use a split charger relay if this method works because it has got expensive so far lol. cheers.......
  21. lmao! do they have those cars in America lol? has any of you got say 200-300amp(ish) Alternator that goes to a smallish standard stock sorta battery say between 45AH-70ah(ish) ?? i'm really worried bout cooking/blowing my battery etc
  22. i need some answeres please guys, the 140 amp alt, will this constantly give my stock 45AH batt 140 amps, or will it only charge it up when it needs the power back in it. could somebody explain it all to me.....like how much etc the alt charges the bat, how much 700-1000wrms will draw from the bat and how quickly the alt will charge the bat when i have the music on i do have this 120AH battery for the boot, it just depends if it holds a charge i will use it. but if it doesent will the stock 45AH battery be able to cope with the music on loud? hope that makes sence! cheers
  23. I have got hold of a old 120ah battery from a lorry at work, it's charging up at the moment, hopefully it will hold a charge and all that, if i was to connect this up to the other battery(electrician said to do this at work) and stick it in the boot the 140 amp alt will be able to charge them both up with out any battery getting 'cooked' ?? its a 120AH deep cycle gel battery
  24. i have a rover metro 1.1litre, (i live in Great Britain) have ordered a 140amp alternator, and have a 45AH stock battery, i have been told that the alt will 'cook' that battery.......is this true???, if so what should i do to solve it? i will either run 700wrms or 1000wrms (ish) from a JBL gto 1201.1 amp to 12" type-r sub. Help is much appreciated, cheers Ben.
