Ive heard this thing when it was playing at .7 ohm and it got stupid low!!

I gotta get on my computer after work. Idk if you can do it from mobile. As of now i have moved up to a Skar 1500.1 and i put my Kicker cvr 15 to replace the missing E15 so i can still have music.

Then why is the gain at its lowest of the three songs using the sq track? That should have the smallest anout of clip/dist.

that's all bullshit, but so be it.lol. if you're making an spl setup, you should only use track one. as frequency tones you burp with are recorded at 0db as well. but that's besides the point. it was likely a combination of slight distortion, song choice, etc.
My setup wasnt for spl, i had my gain turned down a hair from where it was dd1'ed using the SQ track so i wouldnt have to worry about over powering or distorting at all.

The box is 42 wide x 16 tall x 24 deep. Its rougly 6.5 - 6.6 cuft tuned to 34 hz. The box was designed by RAMdesigns and built by me. I dont listen to alot of low deep bass. No decaf, nothing that makes these bottom out. Subsonic was set to 36.

track 3 is the sq track for ur sub amp. It has the gain slightly lower than the +-0db track which is number 5. So my gains were fine.Yeah. You arent supposed to set the gain with that track. It was not a factory defect. Coils don't cook by accident. Next time, reset the gain using one of the 40hz tracks, and enjoy problem free performance.
"sq" tone is the 0db tone which track 1
Track 5 is the -10db which that is the "spl/loud" tone
So you use the dd-1 wrong most likely you were clipping the whole time
User error
Track 1 is setting ur max volume of the headunit.
Track 3 is max sound quality
Track 5 is compromise of SQ and SPL
Track 7 is Max SPL

As stated in the DD-1 owners manual....
"Setting the gain of a subwoofer amplifier"
(Track 3 will ensure maximum sound quality, track 7 will result in a louder system, track 5 is a compromise)

Well sundown is the ones that said the coils were burnt, but when i looked at the coil myself before i sent it to them, it was still a perfect copper color. Just frayed nd separated. Nothing looked burnt or smelled at all.

Well ive hooked them up and played them on the amp for less than a month. The amp was tuned using a DD-1 on the SQ track. One of the 15s blew up and has a burnt voice coil. No voltage drop, no clipping, no bass boost. Im very shocked. Very disappointed with the customer service i am receiving on it as well. The voice coil should not have burnt up sharing 600w of clean power. Making me pay for shipping to sundown, paying for the recone, and shipping return. All i asked for was a warranty repair. Apparently they dont warranty subs that manufacture defect.

if your only running one 15 and its a dual 2, you can either wire it to stay at 2 ohm or take it to 1 ohm. but if you do multiple subs, youll normally buy a dual 4

this might help, there is no performance difference... but when wiring them single or multiple, its important to have the right impediance

why didnt you just say, "does anyone have a dd1 they would be willing to sell? greatly appreciated!"
it would have saved you the trouble... and especially if it was "MINT" then your not gonna get it much cheaper..
and youd have more confidence in just buying a new one.. i did.
meaning i went in on it with a buddy and we split the price so we could both use it.
