  1. It's your mother dude, why should you even be hesitant? I know how you feel man, my father always hits me up for cash. I don't know how much i have helped my parents out with money, even when I was in school I paid household utility bills, bought groceries, etc. I still help them out with money today and I'm 25 married with a family of my own. My father doesn't have a job, but I don't expect payment back, what they have done for me is enough. It might just be the way I was brought up or something (native american). It's just tradition for us to help our parents and elders out, they after all brought us into this world, raised us, and made us who we are today. Just my opinion.

  2. What year s 10??? Newer ones peak around 58 to 63hz not great for music older body styles even have a higher peak

My s10 is an 01. Man...that seems awefully high...haha..what music has beats that high?? my current system hits pretty decent for lower notes, but sucks on high stuff, but if its the only way. What frequency would be a good starting point??

01 s10 - you scored yourself a nice number for one sub (correct?)...that crazy if so, sure puts my numbers to shame. ha ha

  3. I'm going to be building a new box this weekend hopefully. I'm trying to figure out numbers right now and wondering what the s10s peak frequency is. I'm wanting this box to be tuned decent, something that will get me a decent numbers on the term lab. I don't have access to one, so I can't figure out my peak frequency. In previous runs I scored a 143.3 in my ext. cab s10 w/ 4 t1 12's (Gorilla Zoe - money man). I'm wanting to try to improve this number, maybe the tuning of the box will help. Right now its tuned to like 32hz. Let me know any ideas. I also assume subs forward and port up the best (current set up)?? I was thinking subs forward, port forward on top. let me know. thanks.

  4. I have one in my S10, bought it for 500 bucks. Its a very nice indash. There so much adjusting you can do (atleast I think, compared to what I had) with it. I don't ever think I would mess with all the adjusting. Very nice units, but I hear that once they break its hard to get them fixed. I don't think fosgate wouldn't even fix them (my source who worked for fosgate mentioned that to me). My CD stick when trying to eject and I'm getting tired of that, so I might just put my alpine back in sooner or later.

  5. What are the pros and cons to this?? I already have a T2k Fosgate power amp, but wanting to upgrade to 4K Watts. I'm wondering what would be a better route. Just having one big amp or two 2K Amps. How would amp draw be between the two? Space is obviously an advantage of one amp. The amp/amps will be pushing 4 Fi Bl's fully loaded. Thanks for any advice.

  6. Hey Daddy is clipped...don't worry about it though

It takes to long to type out how to check yourself (I can't remember off the top of my head either lol), so go up to the right corner and click search and look for "audacity", you will find a few threads with how to do it

I do actually have the program, but I buy my mp3's off itunes and for some odd reason that's the only program it works with. Can't find the tracks in my explore...I try to shy away from the use of p2p programs.

  7. Here's three songz my system beats pretty hard to, just wondering what the bass freq. are.

Not exactly the type everyone jamz, but for when cruising late at night with your lady friend. The bass at the end sweet.

Four notes I think and get lower after each one. Who would have thought. haha...I'm not a fruit, I swear!

This bass pretty loud, hope it not clipped, but don't jam it much...

  8. Wow...good topic! I always wondered this same situation with everyone who can afford these huge ass systems...haha. I'm a little late this thread. To answer the question, I moved out at the age of 22, decided school wasn't for me anymore (dropped out senior year of college). My older brother was a foreman on a construction crew, he hired me on, and now after 2 1/2 years, I run my own crew.

Through out this time frame, I married at the very young age of 23 (i still wonder if I married too young..haha). I was able to buy my first house at the age of 24, which was a huge accomplishment for me, seeing that my mortgage is less than a lot of peoples rent out here. Own three rides (08' silverado, 05 maxima, 01 s10 (play ride). Oh yeah, I had identical twin boys at the age of 24. Sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging..haha..but I grew up on the Navajo reservation where the economy was extremely bad and even worst today!, if I stayed on the reservation i'm pretty sure I would have amounted to nothing. To me it just goes to show that if you have the will power and determination to make something of yourself you can, its just up to you to make it happen. I didn't get my BA, which I realize now I should have stayed in school, but its not like i can turn back now, so I just make the best of my situation. I'm happy I don't struggle with bills and able to buy nice things for me and fam. Sorry for the novel, but I moved out at the age of 22, because I had to, and now i'm 25 turning 26 this year. :drink40:

  9. 144dB is not a bad score for the first time. Hell, it isn't bad at any time to tell the truth. Get your voltage drop fixed. You're gonna have to play around with the music a bit to find what hits harder. I know for a fact 1 song can make a HUGE difference. We had a guy at a show here hitting 134dB on music (termlab and sealed up). I can't remember what song he was using. I told him to try my Lil' Jon cd, track number 8, 20 seconds in. His score went up to 144dB. A whopping 10dB difference just by changing music.

I still beat him though. (just had to put that in, sorry)

I know what you guys mean about one song making a difference in numbers. I did 144 first run, second run I did 140 w/ the Dream - I luv your girl. This track really beat my electrical system. I'm installing my new Mech. Man alt. today and just make sure it goes together right.

Dude, if you beat that Excursion, you're on the right track. Play around with some different songs to see what is loudest in your truck.

Hahahaha...yeah it was a very intimidating truck. had like 4 kinetiks in the back, like 5 of the new big fosgate amps (not sure of size, but pretty big for new stuff) and it just beinga shops bass truck. It did a 143. Beat it by 1 db haha...pretty stoked when I heard I won by 1 db.

  10. Yeah put the alt on was the score on a avg if so find a bass song with a good steady beat any extra batterys?

You should see the score go up

The score was pretty much whatever the highest db you hit?? I'm not too sure. All I have really done to my electrical was a yellow top and big three. I will look into a kinetik. There was a excursion there w/ 10 12" P3's and it did a 143. A shop's bass truck. I was pretty amazed I was higher. You have any suggestions for a good bass song? everyone had them and I didn't! haha..felt like the odd ball out.

  11. My first time ever getting metered at a local car show/sound off w/ a term lab sealed up. I just finished putting the system together 1am night prior and had to drive 5 hours to the location. So i had no time to dial in my system. The truck is an S10 ex. cab. w/ 4 12" T1's tuned to 35hz wired to 2ohm on a t20001 and a t4004 to 2 RF components w/ a stock alternator. The song I was playing was Gorilla Zoe - Money Man. My electrical was dropping into the 9's hahaha...I have a 250a alternator just had no time to install it!. I won the competition out of like 10 vehicles, but I feel like my system should've did more. Could I have got a higher just using a bass cd? any tips for getting a higher score?? Wouldv'e the alternator been the simple solution to higher numbers?

  12. Do 22's on a full size, they just don't seem to look right with anything smaller haha.

My s10 on Foose Nitrous 2 20's...rubb every now and then with a 3/5 drop. Wouldn't think rubbing be an at stock height.

    107_0074.jpg

My brothers 01' Full Size with some crazy low drop w/ Eagle Alloy 22's and really don't rub with minor mods to the fender well. I wouldn't imagine these rubbing at stock height, let alone 20's getting close to rubbing.
