Mid 40hz is where your going to get spl. Tuned your box to say...43hz...play a 43hz tone...theres your spl..
Not quite it depends on the cars resonant frequency also, if your box is tuned to 43hz its not likely to get loudest at that frequency. What the box is tuned to determans what frequency the sub moves the least, in your example it will move the least at 43hz.

quick question ina sond do decibles put out more bass or do frequencys put out more bass ?
i make songs and this is what i need to know
if i should lessin the frequency and turn db up or the other way arround ?
All turning the Db up will do is make it so you dont have to turn the stereo up as much to get to full volume, it depends on the car and box tuning as to which frequencys will be loudest.

if your using an amp like rockford, it should say on the birthsheet, or if there is no birthsheet and your using a D class amp it should be around 70-85% or may say in the manual.

watts divide volts = amps
Edit: sorry formula without taking efficency (sp) into account

the .4 ohms is most likely the resistance of your multimeter. if you touch the probes together it will probably show .4 ohms.

ya, ive read anywere from 50-60htz, i dont really see any diff between the 2 tho but i can tell taht a higher freq pulls more current than a low freq does so thats why they say use a 50htz tone, but settin an amp with freq is wierd tho cause u gotta add into factor ur bassboost and ur sub sonic filter also, maby this will be more informative tho http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=4382 anyways happy posting

id go for quality, i got this cheap 21" sub to play around with and it is crap, my single 12" is a lot louder and sounds better with the same power. the 21" was rated at 1200w rms and my single 12" is 1000w rms.
