  1. if you havnt done it yet do this: Run your power wire on the opposite side of your remote wire and RCA's. Where ever your ground is, make sure all the paint is grinded or sanded off. Most people dont have the paint sanded on there ground and it causes that.

Got this done already power wires are on left(driver) side and all signal lines running on right(pass) side. But thanks

The buzz is coming from the amp itself or through the subwoofer? If it's through the amp, that's nothing to worry about and is perfectly normal.

Alright well i hope so, dont want this thing to burn out on me, not easily available so can't just replace like that.

Also i went back an tuned using track 7. After about 2 songs woofer started gettig smelly haha luckily i wasn't full tilt the whole time, i would turn th bass remote up at times then back down.. Putting this z v.3 to work.

  2. So here is what is happening.

When i tune my amp using the DD-1 (-10db track) before i reach distortion levels on my gain i hear a buzz from the amp. Amp is a SHOK II sub is Sundown z10" v.3 and max level on HU is 50 distorts at 48 so i tune at 47. Its not my first time tuning amp with DD-1 just wondering if anyone has come across this buzz on a different amp.

    Any suggestions i'm all ears.

  3. I have a z10" v.3 and i am running 2.5k on it and it loves it.. But i have seen those SA's take upwards of 2k each. But i will say this feed those monsters at your own discretion lol.. I would 1.2k to the SA's is a safe amount of power.. But Z's ha they will ask for more and more until they have had enough. And SQ is awesome.. Of course in theright enclosure with the right power those SA's will bang and they are more budget friendly as well..

  4. SMH lol..

OP Just do what you think will please you. Folks here are just trying to help you out and prove there statements, sometimes it is said very directly but hey just knod your head say roger and move out no need to pout. After all in the end it will be your decision wether or not you take the advice or continue down your path. just my $.02
  5. I'm reading through this post smh. I used to have a brz1700.1 on my 10"v3 and like quoted before "it was laughing at me" then got a bb2400.1 PA and still it was asking for more. Now I have a little beast SHOK II doing about 2500 at 1ohm to the z10" v3 and it looks happier.

So if I were you I would just get the 15" v3 like I just did. And if you want more power drop it in just make sure you have a clean signal and your good.

  6. Oh, and check resting voltage and be sure to give that bish a good charge with a reliable charger if you get it.

haha forgot to mention these are brand new in box i may be able to get more than 1 haha. My buddy is a mechanic and needs to clear a few of these from his area at work. But yes i will check the resting voltage and pop them in. man my Malibu is gonna look like i dropped the back with this weight though lol..

  7. So I was talking to my buddy and he has one of thee bad boys available that I can have. Just wondering what you guys think. The battery is not this same brand but it's the same specs.

The one he has is the same exact except it is an Armasafe batt. Would this be a good idea to put in trunk I will soon be buying either a mechman 220a or 270a to power my new SHOK II & T400-4.

I just am not Sure if this would be a good idea or not let me know what you guys think.

  8. I say go ahead, Sundown audio woofers can take a beating and they are very well built. I know people running 1k+ daily to SA woofers and they don't get stinky pr even warm. Maybe after an hour or more of abuse at high levels of play time they do but you will be running the E's at only 100w over the suggested rms. I'm sure just like their other woofers these are underrated as well.

Just remember clean signal is key to any setup. I ran 1700w to a Z 10"v.3 from sundown and it didn't even break it in over a time period ofa month lol.

As stated make sure you have clean signal and a nice box. But i would say you will be fine putting it on 500w rms

  9. Well that's what i started thinking as well. So i came up with this, I will probably sell the 10 v.3 and buy a single 15" v.3 of course it's not the same cone area of 2 12's but it's more cone area than a single 12" and you don't have to seek more power haha. Unless you truly want to. Even then i'm sure that v.3 can handle close to 4k just saying. I'm sure i seen a few vids out there. As long as it's clean power i don't see why not

  10. I also have a z v.3 and love how low it gets plus i also like the fact that my 10" requires such a small box but still pushes out an insane amount of power haha. And yes they will ask for more and more power until they have there fill. Soon i will be trying to upgrade as well to 2 12"s v.3.

And yes NS's are mostly for spl purposes. V.3 are very nice and always sought after, thus why when i called Sundown last week to try and order another they said they were waiting on a shipment of motors for the v.3 kuz they were fully out of stock.(hint, this should tell you something lol)

  11. Higher preout means more power signal sent to amplifier= amp gain set lower = better for less distortion. Just saying. I have a JVC KD-BT1 I bought used for $50 and when i sold my amp to a buddy of mine i left the same settings on it. His Pioneer double din only had 2v preouts so in order for it to sound as loud as when the setup was in my car we had to turn gain up some more. So yes preouts voltage matter when you are looking for less distortion and tunning by ear lol.

But if you have a DD-1 or Osco, get either and just set gains using this. Amp is still going to put out same amount of power either way.

  12. Why not just get 2 Y-Splitters? One for the left one for the right.

Could you get me a link?

    http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=240-125

Sorry I gave you the wrong link the first time. You need the single female to dual male. This is the correct link

Maybe I'm wrong but wouldn't he need 4(y splitters) total and 1male to 2 female? I did this to my buddies vehicle and we used 4(y splitters) total usually 2 come in a pack.

OP Do you currently have a sub amp hooked up? And will you be requiring all 4 channels plus a sub output?

EDIT: Sorry I gave you the wrong link the first time. You need the single female to dual male.

^ this could also be done at the amp, however you still need 1male to 2female behind deck on both right and left output rca's

Please clarify for me do you only have one total output rca behind deck? or do you only have one left?

  13. So i just ordered my S MD DD-1 and wondering if you could sign it for me Steve. This SMD is going to help me set all my friends gains perfectly. Im military(Army) and i help out all my buddies here at Ft Lewis(JBLM) as far as installs and tuning, and my wife just bought me this(SMD DD-1 much needed) as a b-day present lol.

    My order # is: 100002493

    Invoice Number: 100002493
