What the hell is with that music.
That shit sounded bad and damn near blew my eardrums out.

I've alway ran these, Northstar Batteries, its a cell phone tower battery, 6000 amps, 12V,
Its sopposed to be equal to running 6-7 batteries, i cant remember what i did with it.
Back in the day when a good friends mom worked there, I could get a scuffed blem for $20, no joke,
Now the only other person I know to get them from wants $150, but still a great freakin deal. I ran one of these for 3 or 4 years never had any sort of light dimming, or electrical issues. ive got another one in the garage but its the 5,300 amp

If the box seems small, stuff it with polyfill. Slows the waves and acts like a bigger box. Also if you're concerned about thermal power handling, just invert the sub if you can.
good call, was not thinking about that

Sweet! thanks man. Now, how would this design look if I wanted it sealed? From what I've been reading, a sealed box is more my tastes because there's less of a delay in quick drum beats as opposed to a ported box. Is this true?
you asked this question at the caraudio.com forum didn't you?
lol
i said that because there was a time on there years ago that no one on the forum was accepted by others unless you ran a sealed box. If you had a ported your system was shit and everyone hated on you until you just quite visiting.
I 1000000000000000000000000000000% agree with what sprkn ranger said,
A sealed box usually ends with disopointment.
you have 4 10s because you want it to slam, please do not restrict the capabilities of what you have by putting them in a sealed box.

lol
I would imagine the power handling would go down due to cooling issues, hard to say how it would sound until you try it,
the results will probably be similar to a castration

in the past, i had problems with kenwood amps shutting down all the time. If it was the least bit hot out they go into thermal protect fast
-
Just interested to see
-
You could do it by hearing, but it wouldnt be perfect.like you want.
its hard, 42hz sounded the loudest, and seemed quieter as I went up the hz, turns out my peak SPL was at 49, super weird,
and Im getting ready to finish my port to the tuning I originally planned so I'll have to start over
-
yea, I want to take time, find the sweet spots (hz) and try to get the most out of it

when i did that about a month ago i bought a new amp.... had a 1501d thunder mtx.................... my baby
i was hooking up an amp today, while tightening the terminals on the amp, my allen wrenched touched the + and ground on the amp for a second making a huge spark (car was off). No fuses blew, amp still turns on just fine, no subs are hooked, is there any chance i still could have damaged anything? subs wont go in for a while so hope i wont see the problem once the subs are hooked up and the amp has a load on it (amp is a sundown 4.5k).
Not trying to scare you,
I did this with a 1000w MTX class d back in the day, it never worked again.
Now that being said, these sundown, dc, dd, crescendo, aq amps all seem to be at an entire different level of quality than amps from 10 years ago, and still many other amps on the current market, thats by a visual observation of the guts compared to others. So I wouldn't be too worried, as long as its not in protect, its probably fine
LOL, well we have established that MTX amps die immediately if you do this, LOL
Do you not have anything at all you could plug into it to see if it moves?

I did this with a 1000w MTX class d back in the day, it never worked again. It was kinda like taking a $900 shit.

Here is why you don't mix sundown audio products with DD audio products. I almost bought a sundown amp to push my 9512, until I saw this.
