  1. Forgive me if I don't feel bad for him or anybody else that puts that shit into their body they all know the risk they are taking.

True. He knew what he was getting into, and if he didn't I'm sure he could have found out quite easily. Even worst was that he admits he was experimenting with his body. Still, I'm sure its pretty humbling for him going from a massive competition winning body builder to where he's at now.

  2. All I can say is to run two Z v4s on that 3500. Not sure about woofer size in a trailblazer, someone else will be able to help you there.

I would stay away from .5 ohm, not because of the "if you have to ask don't do it" but if you want more power, just get a bigger amplifier. You could damage the amplifier with low impedance like that, but I know that some people will disagree...

  3. I used to have a battery blanket it my old car, mainly because it had trouble starting in the winter and during night shifts it would sit outside in -35c. They don't get hot enough to damage the battery, other wise they wouldn't make them. Depending on how cold the temperature, you need to get a more powerful one. I had a 100w blanket.

But then again, -35c is actually cold but something like -5c isn't that bad really.

  4. X-15 if you want to get down to the low 30s and 20s.

Sorry to bring back up but would the x 15 still be able to have a respectable 40-55 the range not crazy like the 30s. I would be tuned either 30 or 32 hz. I like the lows but I don't want the upper range to be non existent either. Sorry for the noob questions I just don't live in an area where people have things like this so I have no way or hearing them.

As long as you don't put it in a huge enclosure it should be fine. The Xs tend to loose wind in the 40-50hz range when they are in a larger enclosure. That's what I found with my X-18s at least. They will still hit lows well even in a smaller enclosure too.

  5. This thread has derailed.

I don't care what anybody says, stick with the manufacture's power rating. Go ahead and run double or triple that power, but don't be upset or confused when you cook that subwoofer. Yeah there are guys here who run more than rated power, and yes, we can argue that they are more experienced or know more about the particular manufacture and how far they can push the limits of their products. The point is there's still a power rating, it's not for the people who don't know, its for the safety of the subwoofer itself. That's what it can safely handle for long periods of time. Sure you can go give it more, but you're taking that risk, not the subwoofer.

It's like sports cars. A Ferrari can go 350kmh, and everyone knows it can but you better be a damn good driver to go that fast or at least know what will happen if you make a mistake.
