any plans on any SMD competition amps? would be cool to have an SMD build from deck to speaker box lol
first dibs on a
5000.1SMD-vs1 lol
-
So....you go to their site and then go to 16v batteries and there they are...
sounds like a complicated procedure could you just tell him? (sarcasm like a motherfuc&*er)
-
carriage bolts, lots of washers, and ring connectors. its that simple.
thats how im doing mine.....
im thinking about doing each coil so i can change impedance on the "fly" so to speak
-
thats one of the points im trying to make!
why would xs power sell something when you have to go buy something for it somewhere else?
i.e. the allen bolts that are sold in "short" and "tall"
if i knew that i wouldnt have bought the brass posts at all as they really dont help me at all
-
that "gap" looks factory...like its supposed to be there. the bubbles on the top are most likely in the label. does the sidepost (not your stinger) fit the side adapter? and I would just cut the factory battery clamp and crimp a ring terminal on.
edit: not to mention, just because its recommended, doesn't mean its necessary for the install.
stock side posts wont allow more than 1 ring terminal (hence why i bought a set of the stinger posts)
i think im gonna take a grinding wheel to the stinger posts to shorten them
even if i didnt buy the "tall" brass posts the hardware that XS power provided me with the i- bars wouldnt be long enough for the spacers ( which are required from my understanding)
so yes i needed to buy them... but the problem is i cant even use the brass posts only the long bolts that came with it lol
as for the battery i am most likely over exaggerating it a bit (just because audiosavings has sent me "new" items that where broken/used)
but my friends d925 doesnt have a 1/4 inch gap or bubbles in the sticker or on the top white case...
let alone the terminals on the battery looking like they have been scrapped with a butter knife
and i still want to know where the clear thick syrup shit came from lol
-
i never got a happy birthday... so no happy birthday for SMD forums!
-
ok so i ordered the following from audiosavings.com
D925
I-bar (gm side posts)
I-bar adapters (little brass spacers)
and "tall" brass posts
now all of this was reccomended by 4xspower.com (when entering in my vehicle year, make, and model)
i made a video to show the 3 day old battery that just doesnt seem right....
(cant use my stinger posts or use the brass posts?!?!)
warning this video is taken off a galaxy nexus so quality isnt GREAT

i always wondered about this... ive seen it done but i still feel like plexiglass is a risk lol

I can ship to Canada postage will be covered by the buyer
I assume you want everything listed so shoot me a pm and we can work out the details

6/4/12 is friday?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

since this is my FIRST sales thread i will try to give some background of the items!
i bought this amp kit from a local car audio business (elite services ) about 2 months ago for 65 bucks
he claimed it was a rockford fosgate "sister company"
and said it was OFC and considered 4 gauge in europe (closer to 0 AWG than 4 AWG )
(it has a copper color and most REAL OFC is nickle plated so i would say its copper clad aluminum AKA CCA)
i ran a sundown saz1000d on it and it worked fine
16 ft of red "4gauge"
4 ft of black "4gauge"
ANL fuse holder (fuse sold separately)
(no RCA's )
the gold platted ring terminals are a bit chewed up from soldering them and being in my truck so may need new ones if you plan on crimping (if you solder them just heat them up and the solder will drain out)
(2) 1/0 white grommets ( i may have 2 more to sell still trying to decide if i wanna do another run of 1/0 )
(1) set of stinger gold platted terminals ( best used on side mount batteries that dont have long posts/room to fit more ring terminals) (these will NOT work for XS power batteries!!!!!)
the stinger terminals where bought from elite services the same time the amp kit was (condition reflects sanding down the contact points and scratches when installing/removing)
i would like to sell all of it as a "kit" (missing RCAs but can get a pair at walmart for like 7 bucks) $25-30 bucks for all of it (not including shipping or PAYPAL fee's )
if you want only a few things or something send me a pm with your offer!
(i dont know if you can request the buyer to cover paypal fees on here if not then w/e)

id get the 2500s and set the gains accordingly
in my eyes its better to have some head room
-
I've never heard or seen anyone say it was OK...
My question was if it would be OK for under a week
My d925 is coming Monday so I held off....
I would recommend not mixing any batteries (brand/technology)
-
Not really, unless you care to elaborate on the numbers you put up.
Inches?
Centimeters?
Feet?
Yards?
3 midgets x 3 hookers x 1 llama = magic box?
that sounds like a sick porno

not audiopipes, but a lot of these amps we use are essentially all korean build, similar or same build houses. So it isnt completely untrue (take this loosely). Someone correct me if im wrong.
tis truth you speak...
not AQ tho...

im doing 4 15 Fi SSD's in a street box (16 cubes after displacement tuned to 28-29ish hz ) on 5k
im not expecting huge numbers
from my understanding walls are mainly to get numbers as it shortens the air space
im thinking after this build (even if its100% to my expectations ) ill wall it off and go big on some monster power i already removed my back seats lol
Not really true, there's people with walls who genuinely dont give a fuck about numbers
Walls to me are big, bad, punch you in the back of your head bass, sometimes numbers aren't important.
ok most people who do care about numbers wall their shit... didnt mean to make it sound like ONLY WALL IF YOU ARE GOING STRAIGHT SPL! lol
-
6th order = hurricane winds!!!!!!!!!!
4th order is cool too
