well i looked and i know i can go 48 wide, 32-35 deep and window line tall, about 20-22 max on size but if needed more so be it

oh yea built plenty of boxes for just about anything, but never built one kinda like meade's is. i have the same tahoe as him just the 03. i have two 15's in there now. but it is just a port to the side. i was looking at theres and i was thinking about subs up, port to the back but didnt know if it was better to have a square port on the middle or a big slot port on the bottom to the back

any ideas on how i should build the box?

i will be running 1600rms to each, and of course double baffle. so any ideas would be great on size and port size.

i have the two FI BL 18's now, looking for a box plan to build and want it tuned around 30hz. it is going in the back of a tahoe so i have good amount of room. i know i want subs up and port to the back. want to do a square port but not sure what size the port should be or how many cubes the two 18 bl's need?

thanks that kinda the answer i was looking for, with the deal i am working i can get 4 subs and stay with the amps. i can build what ever box i need and have the room back there. it would be a cool factor for sure to have all 4 and done in about 2-3 weeks.

the pr's sound very good, and cheap as they are it is hard to beat. i might be able to work another deal with a friend and have another option but i need some help on it before i open up to the deal. if i was to stay with the two hifioncs i am getting at 1600rms each what would be louder the two fi 18bl's or 4 fi 18" ssd? a friend is wanting to trade for some other stuff and i can work it out to get the 4 but it would be the ssd's and not the BL's i am thinking on the 4 right now for sure...gota love car audio. there is always so much i want.

i know wires are showing..lol but there under the seat so you cant see them. i am as of today taking it apart to put the new amps and be ready for my subs. should be much nicer now. it was a start anyway..lol

thanks, i have done lots of reading on learning but slowly it is building up. cant wait to see how the 18's are gonna sound!!! i plan on starting on the box late this week. i have built plenty of boxes but never one with the square port in the middle. gota do my home work and find out what size and what to tune it too.

Here is some pics of my 2003 tahoe it has came along way from stock but as always it has forever to go..lol i have two if 18" BL's on order to go in the back. right now i have two memphis 15's prs basic subs but in a 6.5cf box at 30 hz (finaly painted) it plays ok enough to shake the front windshield wipers. for amps i have two kicker zx350.4 one for front highs and one for back for subs right now i have two KAC-9102D kenwood amps one on each sub at 800 rms 250 amp alt i plan on 4 18's in the back like steve meade but with the BL's but for now only two on order i got a deal on two brand new hifonics bxi1606d's there rated at 1600 rms at one ohm. not sure how good they are but gota be better than what i have. i have plenty of 3/0 guage wire to install when i change it all out. all four doors and back sealed with peel and seal, better than nothing i think? i will post more as i start on the new subs next week i hope

hey it is np...lol i want a ttb box plans but it takes time, that is why i was wanting to build something for now. i am going to check that web site out and see what i come up with. right now i have just a prefab box, (its gota go..lol)

i am in need of a box for two 15's. been looking into building a better box but havent really come up with what i am looking for. i have a tahoe and from what i have seen people use the crx style box lot. i have two memphis pr-15's (not the best i know) i can go 48 wide and 24 deep and tall as needed. so dose anyone have any ideas to help. i can build the box just fine but not sure on the port size and what not. mostly for music around 32hz i guess. thanks

ok thanks, what i will do today as a test then is build the box that i posted from subwoofer tools at 6 cubes an see how they do, the port will be to the side but it is to the back, and the subs will be mounted up. thanks ill post pics and let you know

or is there any other idea i can do for those 15's better than that box, some boxes i have seen have the subs facing up and ports to the back, any ideas would be great

ok tomorrow is the day should i go with 6,7, or 8 cubes. they all will be much better that what i have now
