Make sure your volume is down..

The trunk is the closest thing you will get to cabin gain, so if you are running a regular ported box, its best to fire it towards the rear of the trunk. When the top is down, its almost like you are playing music with the trunk open, because you lose all the little remaining cabin gain you had with the top up. Can be as much as 6db. Only viable option for convertible is something like a low tuned 4th order.
Sounds like I'll just need more power!! lol

But I think its 28" not 26" right?

What are you planning on putting in it? And I agree with Joe X. I also would recommend putting some changing all the 90s to 45s. (you might already be planning on that and just don't have it in the design yet, but I thought I'd toss it in there.)
when putting 45's in like my second pic, do i need to measure like that?
Oh wow, totally missed that 2nd pic. To my knowledge the measuring in both pics are correct. So what Subs?
-
How much are they? I recommend DC Audio or Rockford Fosgate, however I have heard very good things about Hifonics amps. Never anything bad (or good) about their subs.

I have a couple questions that I'm hoping people can help me with, thanks in advance!
So I own a 2001 VW Cabrio and just got some new subs to hold me until I can afford a T2500 and some DC Audio...anyways, I have 2 RF P1 10s in a custom ported box powered by a R500-1d and I have the subs facing the back of the car, as opposed to facing into the car, and I was wondering if switching it around and sealing it from the rest of the trunk would make a difference. And the other thing is when I have the top up its always louder, I kinda assumed that that's normal, right?
Anyways thanks in advance.

Direct leads = no push terminals. Just wire that comes straight off of the tinsel leads. I'm not sure if it's been proven to be better or not. I've never had a problem with push terminals.
Thanks man

This is probably a stupid question but what are Direct Leads and what are the advantages of them?
Thanks guys!

So what the hell would use the Stetsom amp for? Just pure DB??

What's the highest output amp available? I know RF had the T15k and DC Audio has the 12.0 but are there any ones with more power? And also what's the highest output amp for home audio?
Thanks!!

It's finally time...
I'm replacing my stock speakers (4 6.5" 4 1" Tweets) with RF.
But idk what series I should get...
Here's what I want
I want to to use 2 4 channel amps (1 for 6.5" 1 for tweeters) and I want it to be loud without distortion.
I would like RF but am open to suggestions.

Any double din is a good choice. Buy the wiring harness and the adapter for it since it is a stock 2.2din. You said 6.5 as the top part of the door, its a 5x7 stock. I love my Jensen but they don't make the Jlink anymore and thats the only reason I bought it. Also, you may need to buy a radio adapter, I had to for mine. Though I still never listen to radio. It's just good to have automatic time update.
The mustang also has 5x7 in the rear deck but if done right you can get a 6x9 to fit perfectly, just need self tapping screws (for simplicity). Also the stock 5x7's are very very shitty. Its like have a 4"mid and a .75" tweeter. I have mine laying around somewhere but big difference if you put a 6x8 in the door.
IMO the Din is what your planing on doing. Keeping it stock, then I'd shoot for more Watts/channel.
Planning on adding amps, then I like my 4V HUs. (I've not done any tests on this but IMO, the distance from a HU to a line driver is still able to get added "noise" if the voltage is low. So IMO even if you plan on using a line driver, 4v is better than 2v just like 2v is better than .9v)
Use Ipod like crazy? get one that will cater to that.
Want Navi, then well prepare for more $. I like my phones nav anyway though so instead get an android. GMaps FTW.
I have an android. and I didn't know that the door speakers weren't 6.5 so thanks!! that could have ended up bad! hah

My bday is coming up and my mom said she would be me some headphones if I chipped in.
Total I have about $300 (including her part) to spend.
I would like around ear headphones that can produce high quality sound and can play loud without distortion.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Match the cranking amps to your current battery for your new battery (the main one)
then get a bigger (D3100 is great) for you 2nd battery.
