new items sometimes will off-gas or smell when new and being warm might make off-gassing a bit stronger , assuming your not smelling your equipment burning
-
i think it is 150 posts
i had the 500.1 for over a year before i bought the 1000.1 haven't got it yet but it will be the third tma amp i picked up and no complaints as of yet . the 500.1 is a class b mono block .

so which resin from us composites is the one to get ? i see they have some at like 25 a gal
-
i bought one of these off ebay the guy says he has a second one of these
-
that is cheap thanks for the tip , wonder how much shipping for a gal .
o'riellys has a gal for about 40 if shipping blows that deal
-
that has kind of been my experience as well , but i probably have much to learn about building and tuning enclosures
-
the other thing that come to mind after my last post is damping factor of op's amplifier
-
just a thought , maybe smaller woofers would suit your listening taste better , smaller drivers can be faster and cleaner than larger drivers .
could also be that the acoustics of your car aren't that great either . could be that your w3's could use the help of some midbass drivers to make the double toms more believable
-
i would not count on burnt voice coils being covered
-
not sure how much you want to spend how about this
-
sounds like your amp is unhappy , i knew some one with a big kenwood running a pair of mtx 12 's i think 2 ohm and when he would get them bumping it wasn't long until the kenwood would get hot and shut down . 4 ohm for that amp might be best . i would drop a few bucks for some beefier speaker wire i like this stuff http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KRD10BL

if you don't have any luck getting it fixed where you bought it you should look into a squaretrade warranty for the purpose of getting it fixed
-
you said 2 mounting feet broke off , that might be considered "physical damage" which makes it very iffy imo as to if you will be able to get this fixed under warranty
-
me to , i am looking at going with 0 g and i have been looking at everything there is out there , thinking a rf's 0 gauge amp kit is the best value for getting going on 0 g
-
i like using the silicone spray lube that leaves a dry film for pulling wires
-
don't know alot about headers but i would be willing to give those a try , i think if you buy those headers you may want to spend some money on good gaskets and some locking fasteners . it sounds like header bolts can be tuff to keep tight . they like to rattle out or loosen up

i had a k1500 pick up which had the 4.3 (tbi) at one time , thought about trying to find more power , didn't find very much for the 4.3 as far as performance parts . plenty of stuff for 350's. as far as i know the 350 and the 4.3 will share the same bell housing . my understanding is the 4.3 was the result of removing 2 cyl of a v8 . my hunch is that to get some ponies out of a 4.3 would be a big project , the kind that involves some learning .
always thought it would be fun to build a turbo v6 though .
if you were going to put a vortech 350 in a blazer i would look for an engine and tranny out of a gmc or chevy 2500 because the tranny is more likely to be a 4l80e which is a beefier trans
-
i would add some midbass drivers to your existing set up

well imagine spending double the gas of your blazer , vans are kind of the best of both worlds as far space and practicability . my friend has an 00 expedition sitting on 17" tires and he sees 16-19 mpg depending on conditions
-
i don't know if i am lucky or something but with my 95 with a tbi 350 i got about 15-16 mpg in the warmer seasons but dipped down to 12 in winter and my 96 with the vortech got a consistent 16 even with a pop-up camper behind it .
-
i have had 2 suburbans and loved them both , but at 12-16 mpg i could not swing it .
as for the truck you are looking at i think 1750 is on the high side with out knowing more about the vehicle
$130 to fill tank at current prices and the tank will drain just as fast as a vehicle with a smaller tank

i prefer solder
Job hunting is getting tiresome.
