  1. I'm going to be needing some more RCA cables soon, as I'm about to install a 4 channel amp. I was wondering if someone could steer me in the right direction. I'm not looking to spend a fortune, maybe $50 or so maximum for a short set to go from my EQ to the headunit, and then 3 sets of about 20 ft. each. I found this link: http://www.monoprice...d=premium%20rca in another post, and I was considering those, but I'm unsure about their quality, as I haven't really heard of anyone running them. I was also thinking about some RCA's from Knuconceptz, either the Karma, or Krystal series most likely, because they both seem affordable, and come in the sizes that I need. If anyone has any other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated as well!

    i would try this

  2. the tens sound like a good deal to me , but i wouldn't bother with the pioneer amp unless you would use it to run mids and highs . i think for a small budget hifonics amp might be the way to go for powering subs .

if you pass on the tens , a single 15 is not a bad way to go , i think i would buy the tens just to play with and re-sell to make a buck if they aren't trashed .

ebay might be tempting , but i will tell you the last 4-5 things i have bought car audio related off ebay have turned out to be duds in some way or a nother , used gear that is . might be a different story buying from a big seller who sells new stuff .

  3. bout ready to say forget it with ebay after getting my most recent purchase . i bought a jl audio 13w1 sub cause i had 2 already wanted a 3rd paid $80 total . got it today and although it reads good for dc resistance and plays fine free air , no rub ,and doesn't smell , the voice coil is black .

the purchase before this one was for 3 8ohm 10" p2 subs , when they showed up they actually turned out to be 2 4 ohm subs one with broken terminal and the 3rd was a dual 4 ohm with a broken tinsel lead and the cones had cracks and surrounds were rotten , none of this mentioned in the auction . i got refunded on those no problem , i told the seller he could have them back if we wanted to pay shipping and he said trash em .

another recent purchase i bought a tma 360.2 amp , it works but has a high pitch distortion at low volumes .

i bought a couple things that the sellers never followed thru with too .

lets hope the couple amps i am waiting for make up for all this non-sense .

  4. i guess if you can afford to buy a slash at retail price you can probably afford to replace it when it fries

that is still a pretty incredible amp if you look at the voltage range where its rated i think down to 11 volts , and the fact that you can run 1.5 ohms to 4 ohms and get rated power , there's a reason why people pay so damn much to have one of these . but knowing my luck i would spend $200 on ebay or at a pawn shop and have my slash amp fry out a month or 2 later .

  5. the all electric car is a nice dream but the range of it is a deal breaker for me as well as wanting audio gear . i would like to build a car or suv that runs a healthy sized generator off a small diesel engine to produce the current to power electric motor(s) to propel the vehicle . i think this would be efficient . the railroad industry has been using diesel over electric for many years on a massive scale , i think scaled down this could be the ticket for economical transportation .

i don't believe the auto industry is going to produce anything too fuel efficient any time soon , i think the oil industry may have something to do with it

  6. i don't dread my computer but i expected way more , i have a toshiba laptop 4 gig ram and 320 gig hard drive running a 64 bit version of windows 7 , amd vision 1.33 ghz , it was $260 at best buy 8 months ago .

i only bought this because my old dell inspiron 8600 got a worm and it wasn't cost effective for me to refurb it get a new hard drive and find a copy of windows xp and upgrade the ram , and it was running a 32 bit version of xp so i couldn't have gotten the most recent updates due to that . surprisingly my new toshiba runs about the same as my old dell ran when it was running good .

  7. i have a 98 chevy venture and got the ac working after 2 cans of refrigerant , here is what has me puzzled . there are a total of five vents in the front dash that can be pointed , 3 in the middle above the radio and then 1 by each door , NO DUAL CLIMATE CONTROL , the 1 vent above the radio is colder than all the rest , way colder than all the others . i don't see how this is possible but somehow it is happening Dash.jpg

  8. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rockford-Fosgate-RFK1-1-0-Gauge-Amplifier-Install-Kit-Made-Of-100-Pure-Crystal-/390408595058?pt=US_Car_Audio_Video_Amplifier_Kits&hash=item5ae62a6672#ht_2863wt_1139

not sure how much wire you need , but given the wire you are looking at costs $70 for 50 ft if you only need enough to do one run this kit from rf should be cost effective . i have the big dual amp 0 gauge kit from rf and i think their wire is good

  9. got a kenwood pre-amp with rca's , i knew when i seen the back of the cv 900 i would need to buy or make some cords to connect it

i went back to look at it again and it says xlr or trs connector and looking at the back of the amp it looks like i could run balanced or unbalanced input , correct me if i am wrong but i think with the right adapters or connectors maybe the cv900 could be a go

the cxa-8 runs on 220 volt which would be a big pain to get that going in my house
