2200 ish for a rebuild in my truck
which tranny do you have 4L60e or 4L80e , i have seen many rebuilt 4L60e trans on ebay and other places , in the $600-800 dollar range but i know the 4L80e is alot more expensive , its found mostly in 2500 series chevy and a small handfull of 1500 series trucks .
OP: looks like there are a handfull of used trans for the lincoln ls on ebay in the 600-800 range ,but no rebuilts . i would try to find a company that deals in rebuilt or remanufacured transmissions . i am pretty sure that would be cheaper than paying most mechanics the labor to do the rebuild .

You guys dont have smog test in minn? In california we have to have cats equipped if the vehicle came with it or we wont pass smog and cant get registration.
not where i live , guess some places in the twin cities did or still do that .

no cat ! not gonna spend $150 + to replace the cat i just scrapped , exhaust was leaky and loud already , back pressure not an issue for this engine and if it were i could weld a washer in the pipe to create some back pressure . no downstream o2 sensor , no problem with cat deletion . other than being even louder , trying to figure out what muffler i should get .i don't mind exhaust notes , but i don't want ticket or to piss off my neighbors
and actually catalytic converters don't do so much for scavenging , the y pipe is what helps scavenging which i will keep

neighbors house which is vacant , got pillaged a month back . i got cameras on my house recording to a dvr , but 4 cameras just don't pick up enough angles to cover as much as i would like . fuckin hate dishonest people anymore .

look for a remanufatured or rebuilt tranny , more cost effective than paying the average mechanic to rebuild

unless you got a v8 it aint gonna sound like one.
agreed , since i eliminated the cataytic converter i am thinking i should do something to mellow out the noise on this thing . a good sound would be nice too , but mainly not getting hassled or ticketed .

floyd is classic , always have a place for pink floyd in my collection . you ever play welcome to the machine on your system , there is some gnarly bass in the begining of that song .

its a big hump from the low end to the high in the 2000 rms watt amps as far as dollar wise . i think cleanciera gave a couple of good suggestions .

yea your right i justneed to make the inside cut..i guess my question was whats the proper measurment for that inside cut and the best way to make that cut with my jigsaw and dremel..but these vids helped alot i seen smd's before but that top one helped the best..can i get this circle jig at home depot or lowes?
yeah i think you can find a jig a t lowes or menards or somewhere . best deal for router circle jig i have seen is thru rf ,http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/shop/shop.aspx?purl=https://secure.rockfordcorp.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=12005&sitex=10105:54419:US
looks like there is a jig for your dremel 4000 . my first choice for this job would be a router though , don't know how you can round over or shape your rings with out one ether .

if you cut out the speaker holes already and were thinking of using your dremel 4000 to cut out the rings i don't see how it will work , assuming you are going to use or improvise a circle gig , there is nothing to center that with the holes you already cut . start over , or use the jig saw to finish the rings you started .
damn well let me see if i can post a pic of what i got so far..
if i see it right you made the outer cut , and you need to cut the center out next ? i think your dremel 4000 could do it , a circle jig makes for nice holes , you can use some flat steel or aluminum to make one if you don't have one .
what exactly is it that has you stuck then ?

so i just put in a new cdplayer for a friend, now he wants to put in new speakers in the front doors. driver side speakers does not work but the tweeter does...and pass side door shit is shot. i think its a 6 3/4'' and a 1'' tweeter but not sure, i have not pulled door panels yet.. . just wanted to see if some one know's off hand. its a GMC sierra 1500 z71 ext cab. when i look online all i can find is that its a 6 1/2 speaker but does not say it has a tweeter? and then some other sites say its a 6 3/4'' speaker... i just want to pull out the old stuff and screw in the new and fit the way they should. not going for top of the line just something that work good. the guy dont want subs or shit like that.
did you look at crutchfield fitment chart ?thats where i go to find out what fits

looking to sale or possibly trade this gear . please ask if you have any questions or would like to see more pics . payment is paypal and paypal only unless you will pick up in person in which case cash would be fine . first time to sell or trade here on smd .
trades i would consider , 1 or 2 jl audio 13w1 sub 4 ohm model only , 2 or 4 channel amp for auto , cerwin vega house speakers big or small .anything else you are welcome to ask .
i have 2 pairs of rca stereo speakers with bi-pole or di-pole tweeters , not sure which one and a 4or5 inch woofer . the cases are cast aluminum . they work perfect as they should . i would like $100 a pair shipping included to lower 48 states .not totally firm on price so offers are welcome.here's pics.
i also have 3 of these speakers with bad tweeters and rotten woofer foam for parts , not sure what i want for those just yet .
next up is a vintage kenwood stereo receiver , remote ready but no remote , rated 50 watt per channel . ok condition other than scuff on the front , i took a pic of scuff . asking 60 shipping included to lower 48 states .works great .
sherwood stereo receiver with remote , works good looks good rated 100 watt per channel but i think its more like 50 watt per channel good budget receiver . asking 75 shipped to lower 48 states for this .
trades or offers are welcome , just use common sense in deciding an offer. pm offers please .

what do you think of the cv-900 amp , thinking seriously about buying it , just wish cv was more clear on the numbers
http://www.cerwinvega.com/pro-audio/high-performance-amplifiers/cv-900.html
they don't specify rms or peak wattage , all the reviews i have found are good
