  1. I am mainly looking for a good 2 channel amp but if the price is right i will buy a 4 channel. I plan to swap my door speakers to a set of comps so i need an amp.

Any brand.... Im kinda looking for a kicker but not dead set on it. If you have an amp, please post the specs for me so i dont have to go searching 50 different times.

    Thanks

just the muffler? stock cat and everything? does it have that.... excuse my expression... i mean nothing by it but "redneck sound" to it?

  4. everyont that currently owns a BTL is going to say im wrong but whatever, i found that havocs dropped alot lower and sounded alot better trasitioning between notes. i mean the btl doesnt sound horrible i guess, but its just not as lively sounding to me.

and the new btl, i dunno its got a different sound to it that i dont like at all personally.

agree 100%! Havocs are beautiful sounding. i mean they have a nice aggressive sound to them. drop lower too.. BTL doesnt sound horrible but it deffinitly is far from an SQ sub. it is LOUD but doesnt sound good on everything. For my next build I think Im going with some Havoc 18's...

  5. they sound alot different, imo a Q sounds leaps and bounds better then a btl, but loudness is pretty night and day also

I agree. My BTL wont play anything really except for Rap and Hip hop. its quite picky... Freind of mine had a 15" Q and it sounded good on everything. he had it tuned to about 33hz and it sounder great. he has havocs now tuned the same and it sounds much better and deeper.

  6. I'm running (2) 15" AA Havocs, which are similar to fully loaded Fi Q's. They sound great, get low, and pretty loud too. (metering around 145 dB)

Anyway it's not loud enough for me of course, so I'm looking at all my options and the BTL has caught my eye, particularly after seeing some of its amazing efficiency numbers compared to my subs. It sounds like these BTL's would convert a LOT more of my electrical (amplifier) power into sound power, though I don't know at what SQ expense.

I use my system for music listening, so I need to be loud along a fairly wide bandwidth. I know this is mostly determined by the enclosure, but switching to BTLs is gonna sound different no matter what, and I'm trying to find out what that is, and will it still sound good enough for music? (rock, alternative, indie stuffs)

If BTL's are gonna sound mechanical and rough I'll say skip it and just add more of my current 15's.

Havocs sound much better and get louder (to the ear) than Q's. thats my oppinion.

The BTL isnt a SQ sub so it sounds much different. loud though!

  7. How can you disagree not hearing both?

My BTL sound great and its only on 2200rms... Ive heard the Q aswell. The Q sounds amazing in its own way and the BTL sounds great in its own way aswell. I prefer my BTL over the Q. Im sure a BL sounds somewhere imbetween. If I know John (Oldsboomer) like i think i do i think he will prefer the BL's over the Q.
