got a pair of sundown SA12 subs
im looking for the best advise from you guys in terms of box design and what power should be used to play them
overal objective is to get the most performance out of these sundowns subs
im not a big fan of low lolw bass but would like to be able to get all bass notes from high bass to low bass
example would play all bass notes from songs like late night tip.. heartless.. put on.. ( so getting lows and highs)
amp i currently amp is a orion 1200D rated 1200rms@1ohm @ 12.8V
if i have to upgrade my amplifier. what rms power raing should this amp be doing?
as for box: my max height: 17.5" high, my max width :38.5", width: have up to 22" but would like the box as short as possible with my max hieght and width
so the help i would like to get iis
1) to a box design to achieve the most i can i get out of the SA12 to b e able to play highs and lows and play them well
2)what rms power would u recommend on a pair to play them to get the performance daily without causing damage to them
all help would be very appreciated .

someone said problems with my mid speakers..trust me those rcf speakers are extremely loud. car audio speaker wouldnt sound as loud
in my country we use alot of pro audio for our mids such as rcf.. bnc.. bemya.. faital pro..etc because we can play music extremely loud anywhere
Separate boxes arent good, put them in a shared airspace box with enough port area, which is more then 30sq inches per subwoofer.
The mids are useless for midbass unless you have them in a ported enclosure in your doors.
Because the midrange is so overpowering youll need a lot of midbass to balance it out, which isn't possible without porting the pro audio speakers. They are designed to work in ported enclosures.
You havent specified any equipment you have and didnt list your goals, nor posted pictures of what you have. It's harding understanding what you need.
You have the speakers mounted outside the car? Does that mean you want the same with the bass? So loud outside the vehicle, it's not for your own incar sound experience?
Also answering questions that have been asked will help you out too.
the mids is perfect u know
its in compact reflect boxes and the midbass from those rcf are amazing
bass would be in trunk however i would like a box that would play the sundown louddd rather than jus low

okay alot of people here is saying box design is my problems
i had them in a separated boxes
each box is 2.0cuft after port and sub displacement tuned to 32hz
as for amps. i have a orion 1200D for bass. and orion 8002 for my 10" midbass drivers and a 4 channel soundstream amplifier for the drivers
processing done in 3 way network mode on my pioneer 80prs deck

current wise have a 140amp alt with 2 powersafe 92AH batteries and a stock battery upfront with the big 3 done
anyone willing to design a box to play very loud but yet get lows from it ?
btw the t3 audio was in a masive box. approx 2.75cuft after port and sub displacement tuned to 38hz

ok guys got 2 12" sundown sa12 and honestly very dissapointed
had it on a orion 1200D and honestly my 2 12" t3 audio t600 subs played alot louder
im not a big big fan of lows however looking for a sub that would excel from 35hz + playing note in the 40hz extremely well
so hence i want to able to get lows however i want it to be loudd
my mids is not car audio mids. i use pro audio mids consisting of 2 10" RCF midbass with 2 1" compression drivers which are in external boxes to play outside the car
so what is the best sub sundown have to offer me that would be able to play high notes very well and yet i can get lows ?
