makes me want 2 more.

i found my main issue which was that the remote turn wire voltage drops out. i'm not sure what that voltage should be but it is about 6.50 volts

diy is all about sq. not achieving every last tenth of a db of output from your gear. totally different crowds.
true but what i find is since they are so rigid when you get an answer to a question it is pretty much cosigned along the same lines by the others who answer and you can pick out the real from the bull a lot easier. here and some of the other boards answers are all over the place so it's harder to get a direct answer. but amps and wiring real dead on answers allday. i guess the way some good subs are underrated so many different ways it might work for some but not others. i had so many conflicting answers when i was building my box for my sa-8s that i passed over some great info that after building the box i now understand.

Yes, larger boxes reduce mechanical power handling.
It is often difficult to fit the port in a box for a single woofer at a low tuning, though.
sometimes between forums it is hard to follow the logic from one forum to another. on diy most will not go to far from whatever the manufacturers given recommendations are. most other sites will almost always build their boxes bigger. my first sa-8 v1 i got i just built the box and i built it too big and blew the sub. this time i followed to the letter for my box. but i will say this my first box sounded good while it lasted.
-
Because it gives more output.
how do you know how much power it can take at that point? doesn't making the box bigger make the subs able to take less power?
-
as i was building my box i was doing a lot of looking and reading. it seemed to me that a lot of people build their boxes for the sa-8 bigger than what jacob recommends. i was seeing a lot of 1 cube per sub builds. why is that?

i need to get a battery for my 2000 c230. the stock battery is 100ah 450cca. i am running maybe 1500watts total subs and tweets and mids.( i do realize that i will never run a full 1500 watts but i included it because people will ask.) i want to know if i can run a battery like the d6500 that has less than the 100ah? i did get a bt 20 for cheap that i could add.

why cant you fit a bigger amp anyways

i am looking at a massive audio n2 and american bass ph1600md i think it's the same amp but the massive is used and the american is new. and last a power acoustik rz1-2300d new. all are about the same price. this amp will be running 2 sa-8 v2. the biggest the amp can be is 10" by 11" NO bigger. and my cap is 180 this will be for a few months until i move and can spend more. any other amps i can consider?

i have a mercedes c230. it got a small truck and i need to keep most of it. power will not be an issue as i will get whatever size i need. i can built most types of boxes. will ported always go lower than sealed?

what 8 inch sub plays the lowest in the smallest space.

i went and got my batteries load tested at sears they were fine. i moved my ground on my frame to a different bolt. and that fixed it. i was just trying different ground points. the batteries are even resting higher. thanks for the info guys.
-
are you playing full tilt at idle
no maybe 60%
-
Did you do big 3?
everything is run in two gauge. yeah i had this issue before that's why i got the deka battery. i have meters @ the main battery the second battery and the distro box.
-
is there a such thing as too many grounds? can i add extra ground maybe thats an issues. all my connections are tight. and i sit at 13.9 at ilde with nothing playing.

Anyone have issues with mb quart onxy amp turning off if the voltage drops below 12.5v? i am running 2 onx4.80 and one onx1.1500. i have 270 amp alt. 2 batteries one dieheart palt. group 34 in the front and one deka Group 31DTMAGM in the back. i have two runs of 2 gauge each neg. and pos. from front to back.

you're asking if 1500 watts is different than 2000 watts?
wtf man is 1500 different than 2000?
yes
No, hes not asking whether 1500 and 2000 watts are different. Hes asking whether the extra 500 watts will make a difference.
what he said, i wanted to know if 500watts would make a noticeable difference in what i hear from a sub. 1500 watts vs. 2000watts. i can send this thread to my boy so he can choose an amp.

this is such a stupid thread
That post is inherently oxymoronish.
you're so smart
its a stupid post
its like saying is 2 different than 3?
drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

why
