  1. I skipped it. I went straight from the SNES to the Xbox (I did have a GameBoy Color though). I had a few friends and relatives that had them though.

Now we play that stuff on my roommate's WiiU and I have The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on my 3DS. I missed out on the N64 version, so now I want to see what all the hype was about back then, and Majora's Mask 3D is coming out tomorrow (not buying yet).

  2. You already hit the nail on the head...

People want to be hand feed everything, and are to lazy to look for the simplest answers themselves.

There is a very good search feature on the forums and if you use the advanced search you can thin out the results even better and more on topic for whatever your looking for.

But if people cant do these simple things, what makes you thing making a notification pop up prior to them posting is going to make them read it and do what it says?

The chat room is a perfect example of doing just that.

The chat is meant to hang out in and just shoot the crap with other members and have a good time.

When you click to enter the chatroom a dialog box pops up saying:

"Welcome to SMD Chat. Please be advised this is not a technical based chat for you to receive technical support. This is a place to kick back and shoot the breeze about anything that comes up. Be respectful and keep the butt hurt to a minimum. Furthermore, do not argue with the staff. All actions of the SMD staff are final. Any complaining about chat in the main forum will result in removal of all chat privileges."

You must click the I agree button to enter the chat.

However people still join and ask how to wire this, how to trouble shoot their blown woofers, which of these amps should I buy, etc.

Then once they get kicked, they come on the forums crying about being kicked and say a moderator is abusing powers... But if they took the 3 seconds to read that box that they clicked I agree to they would know why they where kicked.

    Its a never ending battle.

As far as the tech support in the chat area, it seems like it would be fine if the conversation evolved toward it.

  3. I accept the appology, shit happens.

And as far as the "dumb to scam you for $60", I deal with jackass customers almost daily that claim that they only have $20 (our minimum service charge for certain calls is $30), but I notice that they actually have a wallet full of $20s. Or they try to find a way to get out of paying, or want me to do it "off the books". Gets annoying as fuck sometimes.

I know family emergency stuff is important, but was there no way to be able to give an update, or were you not thinking about it (which I'm fine with if it was because of the situation)? Just curious

I've been busy as hell as well the last few months, which is partly why it's taking me a bit to reply. 24/7 job, weddings (1 down, 1-2 left to go in the next couple of weeks), moving, etc

  4. I got a response a few days ago, about a day after I escalated my PP claim and made this thread. It took me a couple of days to reply due to being busy with work and getting ready to move, but I haven't heard anything else.

He said that he was out of the country for a couple of months for a family issue so that's why he didn't ship, so I told him to go ahead and ship anyway, but no response since.

I bought an LC6 from him over a month ago and I still haven't seen the item. USPS tracking info still shows "shipping info recieved" (claims he shipped it June 2nd).

I waited a few weeks just in case it was a fluke on USPS part (their tracking sucks), got concerned after a few weeks so I sent multiple replies on the thread and through PMs, along with filing a dispute. NONE of which have any response.

I went ahead and escalated the claim. I did give n8 the tracking info as well.

it did take me a while to get this done, mostly because work has been kicking my butt, along with a lot of personal stuff going on the last few months on top of it.

  6. Crap, I had a ton of roms, and a rom "manager" (where you don't even have to extract the roms, you just click on the one you want to play and it launches the corresponding emu.

It's not on my Game drive, so I'm hoping it's on the old 60gig one that I pulled out. It had the entire NES/SNES/Genesis/GB/GBA set of games, including Japanese-only, EU-only, and US-only releases along with the "hacked" ones (like the "Link Gets Laid" hack for Link's Awakening)
