  1. oh shit, my bad you guys...thought that sub was rated for more than that. My responses are somewhat full of fail....

Haha, no problem. Honest mistake. But I think it's pretty good setup, it'll be better than my cvr's and my kicker comps I had. I would say so anyways.

just make sure the box is decent, the box can be the difference between a great sounding system and a terrible sounding system (believe me, i've been through my fair share of boxes). but in the right box, they'll be a decent improvement over the kickers

Yeah, it'll be a good box for sure. Right now I have a prefab box I'll put them in, yes I know it'll sound bad probably. But i'll get the wood down the road and build a good box for em' for sure.

  2. I plan on getting two 12" AA aresenals and running them on a DX1000.1 at 2 ohms which is 1,000 watts RMS. They are going into a ported box, thoughts, suggestions, ideas. Thanks.

from the things i've heard about em, you'll need much more power than a mere 1000 watts rms. I've got 1 vvx 12 and I'm putting that much power to that 1 sub

Maybe I should get a single 15" Havoc?

  3. No problem, thanks. So my amp and these two subs would work okay? And if I got another amp ( the same one ) they will work okay?

well you are going to basically give those subs 1/2 the rated power which will work but, if in the future you decide to upgrade the amp to give those subs full power, then you would actually have to find an amp that does around 2000 watts rms at 2 ohms or at 0.5 ohms, its easier and cheaper to find and run an amp at 1 ohm.

So if you are gonna upgrade then it's better to get the dual 1's now, only draw back is that you would have to run them at a 4 ohm load with approximately 1/4 rated power each.

Maybe these subs aren't the right ones for me then. Getting a new amp is out of the question because I just bought the DX1000.1 about 2 weeks ago. Maybe I should find different subs? That's why I was going to buy another dx1000.1 so they would have complete power.

  4. do you plan on keeping that amp? cause you'll be basically giving them half power

edit: im asking this because you have to get dual 2's to use the subs on that amp, but you will need dual 1's if you plan on upgrading to a 2000w amp in the future. otherwise you'd need to get an amp that does 2000 at 2 ohms and not 1, which will be considerably more money

Yes I would like to keep this amp. I probably will get another one in the future.

  5. After countless hours and research I think I'm going to buy 2 12" Fi SSD subs to replace my 2 12" kicker comps. I'm going to run them off a DX1000.1(2011 model). Should I get the dual 1 or dual 2? And how should I wire them? The box I have has 2 terminals and last time I tried wiring speakers it was just a mess. Any help would be good. Thanks!

  6. Yeah I'm leaning towards the Q for sure. But right now I have the DX1000.1 hooked up and it's rated @ 1,036 RMS. I have a R500-1 Prime Rockford Fosgate amp laying. Do you think it would be a good idea to hook up he Rockford Fosgate amp and then I would have about 1500 Watts for the Q. On the website it says the Q is 1500 RMS sub.
