  1. Might take a shot with both of the butts in the air if anyone is interested, i was actually surprised, the Z v.3 motor is quite a bit bigger than the X motor.

That blown Z v.3 is also for sale in the for sale section.

Indeed. The Z v.3 motor is 30mm wider with thicker steel -- the X has a taller magnet stack for the additional excursion, though.

Unfortunately i dont know enough about car audio to ask intelligent questions, but maybe you can interpret what im asking.

How is motor ability (force?) Measured? And what is the difference between the z v.3 and the x

  2. There's no look on the wire lmao. I'm pretty sure this might be the most nitpicky thing I've ever seen. I can't stand loom or techflex. I've got better things to do than put that crap on my wiring. Great idea with this. How long does the 975 last before being thrown on a charger

lmao, my exact thoughts. People direly search to find something steve meade missed or did wrong...

  3. Id choose the two 6" port option for(usually) ease of running and not needing such a damn long port.

I actually just looked it up. For the 9" port, in 5 cubes net, tuned to 32 Hz, you'd need it to be just at 27"

That's actually pretty comparable to the length on the two 6" options. If the 9"er is easier for this specific build, let er rip man. Should be really cool looking and since its metal, paint is easy

Amen. I'm going to have the box be sealed, but still be pushed into the trunk a bit, so i should be able to have the port sticking outside of the box and still be able to have the back seat on if i want it.

  4. Those metal ports are insane. That one was 19" port for the bandpass box is NUTS.

I think if you're going to go those metal ports, go for twin 5" ports or twin 6" ports. If 5 cubes net and tuning at 32 Hz, only 17" length needed. If the 6" option, they'll need to be quite a bit longer at 25" in length. Two 5" aeros should be enough, twin 6" ports would be where I would go with it.

Is there a reason you'd choose two smaller ports over one bigger port? It would actually be harder for me to fit two smaller ports in my box.

  5. They definitely need a larger than average port to operate properly. I'm not sure where you hard that they like small port area from. I won't argue the pretty area per foot thing I'm this thread. Jow many aeros and what size diameter port are you planning on?

I was told an 8" port, but then it seemed port area per foot was too low, so now looking at a 9" aero which will put me at 12.5" port area per foot. A single port

  6. I recently bought some sundown x's and am going to be doing a sealed trunk box. Everyone has been telling me something different, and i'm just trying to figure out what will be optimal for me. I will have 2x Sundown x-12's in a box, and i was told to go with 4.5-5 cubes net. My question is, what is the optimal port area per foot for the x series? People have been telling me they like really low Port area per foot #'s, but for most other subs, higher #'s are desired. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if i made any of this confusing, let me know and i'll try to clarify.

    Other Info:
I'll be running these subs on a Rockford T2500 @ 1 ohm, so about 3500 watts RMS.
I'm also most likely going to be using an aero, psychoport.
