  1. First scenario, definitely would not fire.

second scenario, it would be kinda hard to know if he was going for my gun unless he managed to get his hand on it. If someone is going for my gun, I would definitely pull the trigger on them...but over a few dollars, no way. A life is worth way more than a few dollars.

so you gonna let someone rough up your pops while you have a gun in your hand? Dude is taking a legger MINIMUM if im at the store. Maybe not shoot his head because i wouldn't want to clean up that mess.

Steve, I was under the impression you were talking about the michael brown case. In that situation, he was not pummeling the old man, he basically shoved him out of the way. I'm not going to shoot someone for that.

If someone actually got into a fight with my dad...i still don't think i'd pull the trigger with him being so close to my dad. I would definitely pick up the closest blunt object/bat and definitely go at him though.

Strong Arm Robbery. It wan't a simple shove. And it was NOT "shoplifting" like some idiots claim. I really just want to know out of curiosity how normal people would act in the same situation. So many people have double standards. They see a simple push to an old man at the store but put your own frail old pop's in the store with you and a gun on your hip. Would you pull it out and not shoot? I might not want to shoot either, depends on my anger level. But i think it would at least come out. Strong arm robbery, remember that.

Steve, what I was referencing is what I saw on video. You may have seen video that I have not seen. What I saw was the man getting shoved by Michael Brown. I stand by what I said though, a life is worth more than a few dollars. What I'm saying, is that sitting here in a calm, non-life threatening situation, I would that I would not shoot him. No one knows what would actually happen though. To me, it didn't appear to be a situation where a gun was needed.

And again, if someone was in hand to hand combat with my father, I wouldn't want any guns pointed in that general direction.

Are you going to put a Mac PC in the dash like the Tahoe

    thanks man!

The Honda got interrupted by the 72 Chevelle project. By the time i finished i lost my motivation again. Hard to stay motivated on a car you don't drive that just sits there. I'm sure ill either get back on it soon or rip it all out and sell the car. I have too many pink slips to deal with i am getting tired of having all these cars taking up space.

I say you give me a price on it ( with everything in it ) and we'll come back down from maine and pick it up! :D

    A brother from maine! wow!

Do you go to any of the comps?

  4. That is the big 4" coil driver from Rockford, right ? Pretty neat woofer.

And it could be yours for the right price ;]

All jokes aside, yes it is...and i'm very tempted to throw them in my enclosure and see how they score as compared to the X's. IMO I think they will do significantly worse on the meter than the X's. but there is only one way to find out...

and @ alaska it is about 51 lbs according to my scale.

The X was 43 lbs, which is significantly lighter than i thought.

  5. Nice amp for sure.

I just have a quick question.

What exactly is the dynamic test?

I mean it seems a little odd.

It seems to me like a possible 1 sec number, when lightning strikes, like a max rating.

Nothing against the amp. Nothing against the test either. Im sure the test is accurate and has its validity, but I cant see where that applies for most of us. Its like an in kick SPL score for us window guys. The score is still valid in its own right, but its not really meaningful to our standard of scoring.

    If that makes any sense.

This is what they say in the literature :

"In Dynamic Power Mode the AD-1 uses industry standard bursted signals and captures the power generated by the amplifier during these quick bursts. The high speed microprocessor and patent pending clipping detection system working seamlessly together are able to read the clean "RMS" power output from the amplifier during these very short bursts. (20mS for the 1kHz test, and 100mS for the 40Hz test)"

So the power is still relatively clean (un-clipped) but is only measured over a short time -- basically a "burp" power assuming no impedance rise from what you select on the machine.

We included it since a ton of other tests already posted on YouTube have this information; and I know someone would ask if it was not included.

It's a great test.. please include it in all of the tests!

  6. I wish people would do more AMM-1 testing. I have put out a lot of amps numbers using an AMM-1 so you know what you're actually seeing in a real world scenario.

You would only know what you're seeing in your real world scenario which will not be the same for everyone.

Well you would know if someone says XXXX amp can't do YYYY power, and I show the amp doing it in my car, that they were in fact wrong and that it can happen in a real world scenario.

  8. Shit... 8k at .5

.5 resistive ... So like .175 nominal lol, impressive amps nonetheless

the lower you wire, the less box rise you have.

for example, at a certain frequency you might rise from 4 ohms to 6 ohms. if you now wire down to 1 ohm, you are not going to rise to 3 ohms.

Wired at 1 ohm on my subs, i had MANY frequencies in the 1.3-1.5 ohm range

I'm sure wiring to 0.35 could yield a 0.5 load after rise.

  9. Dang man this is like dejavu. Did the same thing to me. In the end I did get the subs. But communication is tough with him. And does disappear quite often.

If the number from Brian doesn't workout I can reach out as well

I had like the SAME experience as OP.

the subs were even for my friend, but i did end up getting them and the subs were quite nice.

  10. yep.

3.5 cf box tuned to 33hz

    powered by celestra fa1.6k amp.

    i hit 142db @ 41hz.

waiting to instal my new amp, t2500-1bdcp, going to be louder!

not sure if this will be any indication to you, but i had a z v.3 12" in a 3.5 cube box that did 142.4 at 2k watts, and 144.4 at 3.5k watts.

    good luck!

right now i got 142.04 with 1.6k watts

    what was your tuning?

why do you have balls hanging from your mirror?

    because its damn funny!

and btw, i only put them there for the vid ;)

tuned to 34 hz, peaked at 51.
