  1. im not trying to figure out your box specs you don't know how big and what it is tuned to?

but what power you running? to me it looks like they have been over excursion or whatever its called and weakened the surround right there .My opinion so take it how you want. (just basing this off of videos i have seen of subs doing it and how the surrounds look like they go 90 degrees at the cone and where yours are tearing)

It's tuned to 32 hz and after all displacements about 2.4 cubic feet

  2. Think you have some hungry rats or something in your trunk/boot eating that shit then. I've never seen this happen to a sub either. to me soon as it magically started ripping itself apart It would have sounded like total crap and you should have checked it out. you must be one unlucky bloke to have the same sub at 1000s of other people and have this happen.

Im very unlucky apparently. I got a defective crescendo amp as well. Showed the pos and neg connections as reveresed and that blew a link of fuses at my battery that are needed for my car to start. 50$ for the fuse block.

  3. I think som1 tried to rip your sub out by jamming the fingers through the surround.... did you not notice your sub sounded like arse?

It almost looks like it....did someone break into your car?
No one broke into my car just one day I noticed the sub looked somewhat weaker in that area and over time it caused that to happen it didn't all happen in one go

    yeaaaaaahhh...

It definitely happened on its own. I was not digging for a recone. I actually went online and purchased a recone kit from droppin hz. It was not punctured with a drill. Car was not broken into. Was not punched through. Literally opened the trunk to see that. Swear on god, my life, whatever. I was just posting a picture trying to get opinions on what it could have been.

It pisses me off that you jump straight to user error. I had the sub for a few days before that happened. It is still hitting, and has slowly gotten worse over time. I haven't had any luck with subwoofers in my experience. Check my old topics. I also received an apparently 1 and only defective crescendo amp.

  4. its probaly screwed but you could try shoe goo worked for me for a while on my mtx 9500 15in

make sure you do both sides and i would do multiple layers? do you have any idea why this happened?

I honestly have no idea why.. I have 2 and the other is completely fine, hits fine, doesn't sound scratchy when pushed in, and seems to be perfect. They are both running at 1 ohm on a crescendo 2k so they are seeing about 100 watts each over rated but I really figured they could take that...
