hahaha , ive heard on many occaisons , oh 30hz is too low , should be around 50 .

The Whole idea of this thread was to have the cheapest bang for buck street beater .
the car
i went with 4 starsound 15inch SVC woofers around $90 x 4
i did my measurements and went with fibreboard . yes fibreboard - very cheap about $40 for a 2.8m x 1.8 sheet
the box size was calculated at 10 cu ft
partly built
test fit in the car . nothing bigger will fit in there
tuned to 34hz - although i think the port might be too small , anybody confirm on this?
bracing - 4 x 16mm rods around $2
dropped it in the car .
got me 2 runs of 4 awg
2 for the earth and 2 power
im sadly still running the stock battery up front with just a cap in the back .
the amp is a ice power that will probably do abour 2.5kw @ 1ohm
its loud , i would think of numbers around the 150 .
i will have it metered soon to confirm .
this is not a daily box , it goes in when i feel like shaking the block . way too heavy for a daily
any comments ?
Ive had people told me , that the box will explode , but its braced really well and its not going anywhere .

DD for the win! i have not heard any mt brands, due to south Africa not importing them at all , but my share of DD woofers suggests that you cant go wrong with them , even if they are chosen as a second place!!

but remember , mostly in a sedan the trunk does get walled off

i also say , swap the ports! its easier then ripping the box apart all the time
all though i build my boxes so that i can easily lengthen and shorten/widen the ports if i wanna

when i had my one 15 in the honda , my box was tuned to 30hz , it was mad low .
my 15 was louder in the sedan then what it is in my hatch atm.
slight box change tho

you going to need a small power station in you car to run four 9515's efficiently
i love the 9500 series , they do get damn loud , but it all depends on the box . as with most woofers .
you could probably have a cheap $100 woofer in the box , sound much louder to the ear then a $600 woofer in crap box .
btw 4x 9515's will probably rip your car apart

i had to break in my DD 15, it sounded crap with the power up . i turned the gains down and nursed it for a couple of days , playing it loud soft loud soft. a week later it was shaking everything !

do u bang your music for long periods , or just short burps , say start at 50% take it to 80 % maybe 85 , then drop it to 40 %
