  1. Probably this week i am going to purchase a 12 inch fully loaded btl...

i know they pound and are the shit but i have had no experience with them

if im gonna be droppin that kind of money i want to know im getting something reliable

    so how reliable are they

ill be pushin it at around 2000 rms

never had experience with a btl but lots with bl's and ssd's. fi makes great subs i dont think i have ever heard some one that owned one talk bad about them. as long as the 2000rms is good power (no clipping or huge voltage drops) you shouldnt have any problems with it.

  2. Its the load, take your meter, and check ohms between both pos. terminals

I bet it is a direct connection.

and the gain being only 1/4 of the way up means nothing but you have a hot signal coming into it.

It is a input sensitivity adjustment only

Sounds like its ia20.1 time for you.

ya i know what you mean about the gain. i just meant that if it was wired to low and the gain and bass boost were way up if it would heat up trying to put out the extra power or from clipping or something. i cant check anything till tomorrow when i get the truck back....what do you mena by direct connection and are you saying that theres something wrong with the amp?

  3. so it in turn wires them in parallel or no? which would be .75. i know some amps are wired in parallel inside.

i was told it doesnt but im not sure.....the amp is used so no manual and power bass isnt open till monday so i cant find out for sure till then. but even if it were to be wired at .75 the gain is only 1/4 way up and with no bass boost at all should it really be over heating that fast?

  4. So you drop the ohm load and now the amp gets stupied hot?

no didnt drop the load. hooked it up at 1.5 and have had it like that since. supposivly its stable down to .5 ohms but either way its above 1ohm which is what its rated at.

  5. K as some of you know i now have the blow through i was working on functioning..... However we are have a problem with the amp. For those of you that dont know its a Powerbass XA-3000D. I have each sub wired to 1.5 ohms. I set the gain with a meter last night. bass boost is all the way down on the amp as well as the deck. voltage normally sits at 14.2volts and doesnt drop below 13.6. after about 30 seconds of playing its super hot. if you let it play any longer than that it will go into protect mode till it can cool down? Does any one know what could be causing this?

  6. its a 95 this was the last year model b4 they went over to tha new comp systems these models are much easier and cheaper to chip and program ;)

sick...mines a 94 i love it there pretty fun cars. but ya i def agree with everyone else you should try to glass it sometime. like you said you gotta learn sometime. i didnt really learn to fiberglass until this last february...i just got on here looked through all of steves and groundpounders builds and whatever other fiberglass builds i could find and went at it. im only 18 and only have about 2 1/2 years experience with car audio and only about 1 1/2 years experience of woodwoorking skills, so i think some one with more experience and skills would have no problem with it. and besides if you mess it up you already have a sick ass box you can through back in there.

  7. acetone does work and i seen that your hardener is m.e.k. too. methyl ethyl ketone if i remember correctly (i sell it at work). the hardener is like mek and peroxide or something like that. i seen that on a certain brand of hardener at work.

k thanks....ya im pretty sure they said that m.e.k. thins it and it doesnt harden until the peroxide is added (m.e.k.p.) but idk
