  1. Bad ass work so far! not only are you one of the most skilled person that i know of, your probably one of the luckiest. i and im sure many other people on this forum come up with some crazy ideas like you. but even if we have the skills its hard to find someone that has the funds to do a build like this. Awesome work on all your builds! cant wait to see this thing finished.

  2. Do what barely move hair...i would hope a 15 should be able to do that

it does move hair alot better if the she were to be on the outside with her hair in the window more. but the truck is lifted and no longer has nerf bars and there was nothing for her to stand on so sitting inside she couldnt get here head back far enough thats why only the hair in the back of her head was moving.

  3. It's an RFX-9420. This is my daily driver (when I'm actually in town that is). Jason Digos of RTTI fame built the baffle and the amp racks for me. At first, he was doubtful that we could get a pair of 18s in the car as I couldn't even fit them in it in the boxes they came in . . . but we got them in. Clearances were very tight - trust me, everything is twice as tight as it looks.

System wise, it's simple - two amps, two woofers, one pair of 6.5" components, source unit, 3Sixty.2, and an Epicenter. Charging system wise is equally as simple - Ohio Gen 200 amp alt, Optima Red Top, 100 Farad RF cap, and lots of 1/0. It was built to sound good no matter what kind of music you want to listen to - it's been quite enjoyable. Of course, if you want the bass we're known for, it can do that too! It plays flat to just under 20 Hz and is nearly flat to 15 Hz with no equalization below 60 Hz. I punished The Dave's ears with some Bass Mekanik one night and he couldn't believe it.

Of course, to address Assman's comments on the Olds' . . . it's gotta go fast too. It runs in the 12s at over 112 mph thanks to a Vortech SQ, full Bassani exhaust, 4.10 gears . . . and a WHOLE lot more. Handling is via Hotchkis suspension components and Nitto 555s - basically, it's a bunch of fun.

Glad you guys like it. BTW, if you look REALLY hard in the photo with the neon on, you can see the old amps - a 1501bd and 1051s. We finished the car in about December of 2003 and I've for the most part just listened to it ever since. BTW, I'll get Steve a current underhood shot and a shot of the spare tire, which is still in the car and fully functional.

im from az ive seen your car two or three times out at the pavillions. very nice work with this set up i love this car im always talking bout it to my friends lol.

have a few more up in a little while photobucket is being gay. the vids really dont do any justice though between it being dark outside and the strobes inside you cant see anything moving. there was good three inches of flex on the front window and the roof was going insane it was blowing shirts around and stuff too. they said it metters in the mid to high 150's

  5. today was my last day at mobile dynamics. we got to go on a tour of the mtx factory. they only make amps at this factory and we werent aloud to take pics of any of the machinery but i got some cool pics of the stuff in thier show room and one of thier trucks. It was planned that we were gonna get to see the avalanche with the jackhammers but it ended up leaving last week.

This truck was built by one of the guys that works their. They said he built it outta his one car garage all by him self.

i know the lighting kinda sucks so its hard to see. but i think they said it was a 1997 chevy silverado extended cab. it has 20 15" MTX 4500 series getting 10,000 rms.

  6. As it may seem, there is very little turbo lag as the long run of pipe under the car acts like an intercooler. This set up is very efficient believe me it has proved it's worth.
i guess it would be pretty good these people right here did the same thing http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarti...urbo/index.html

they said it operates with no noticible lag

nope, bearly ne turbo lag, its a great system, ive installed one on a 02 civic hatch si, it flys

good to know thanks guys! i was gonna say y would this guy go and put all this money into the car and then go and waste money on something that wasnt gonna work that good.

  7. it was designed for the heat reason and for certain cars mainly imports with space issues under the hood.

its been arounf for a while but my opinion i think you would have seriouse turbo lag trying to build boost quickly through 15ft of tubing under the car

thats what i was thinking im pretty sure the ls1 are the same size wise to the lt1's under the hood but if they are i could see how space would be a big issue. as far as lag goes i dont think it would be that big of a concern if it took alot longer than normal, the guy said he had it dynoed before the turbo was put on and it was doing 520 at the wheels so its gonna get up and go anyways.

  8. well im looking for a new car and came across this 2002 camaro ss that im seriously considering purchasing. i noticed something really strange after looking at the pictures.....the turbo and intake are mounted at the back of the car where the muffler normally mounts on these vehicles. now i dont really know anything about turbos but would there be a specific reason for doing this. the only reasons i can see is that the intake is far away from any heat source and that there might not have been room in the engine bay for it. besides that im stumped anyone have an idea?

  9. they dont do so hot electrical wise they are power hungry as hell and i wouldnt count on 5k unless your wiring hella low or 16v system

ah i see. well thats y i said 5k tops i wasnt exactly sure. and were probably gonna run it at .7 ohms. i heard they were stable down to like .3 but i dont wanna push it and blow it up. would it be fine runnin of an alt and a kinetik hc 800 and a hc 2000 for about a month till he could get money to get some more hc 2000's

  10. k cool thanks guys customers ordering it tonight. as far as batteries and stuff go what would you recomend. so far for the electrical system is going to consist of an alt (dont know what yet) 2 runs pos/2runs neg of 1/0, big three, and replace the bat up front. what would you suggest going for a batt. and the car is never gonna be played with the engine off so would there be a need for a bounch of batts in back?
