Very nice. Your Scion setup looks great as well.

People say sealed boxes have better sound quality but I don't think so. I say ported in the mid 30s, 14-16sq inches of port and anywhere from 1000-1500 watts (500-750 each). If you want to, you can take you back seats out and face the subs toward the cabin and seal if off but if you want your back seats just face them back and deaden your trunk lid. I'd say a good setup would be those 8s and a sundown saz1500 with an extra xs power battery and do the big 3 and you're golden
Thanks for your input. What do you think about having one in each corner of the trunk, facing forward at a 45 degree angle?

I am going to put 2 of Sundown's SA 8 v.2 subwoofers in my 4-door Honda Accord and was wondering what ported configuration will give me the best sound quality. I will be playing all types of music, from hip-hop to metal. Some helpful tips would be:
- Box shape, tuning, port length, and location
- Firing direction of subwoofers and port
- Should the box be sealed off from the trunk airspace?
- What would be the perfect RMS wattage
Thanks in advance.

I've owned several Nightshades with many different custom options that Jake wanted me to try out and see how they performed. I've also owned a couple variety of sa woofers. Imo the sa is the better sounding out of the two. To be specific the sa with the higher roll surround and stitched surround is the best sounding Sundown woofer that I've owned. However, as its been previously stated 95% of the sq comes out of the box. The current box I have for two sa12s happens to sound better than all of my previous. One reason is because of the grade of birch I used and the other is a very good ratio of port area to box volume.
Can I get a link to pictures of your current 4 x SA 12" setup?

The reason the SA series hasn't undergone a transformation like the other lines is because Jacob hasn't been able to improve on the output of the SA without sacrificing it's SQ and musical abilities. Don't get me wrong, all the other Sundown series probably sound great, but I know the SA series is the one Jacob won't sacrifice sq for spl
Interesting. That's good to know.

As the title states, what is the best Sundown subwoofer for a variety of music? I've heard the SA 8" v1 in a ported box and was pretty impressed by its ability to handle all types of music and get plenty low doing it. Is that as good as it gets for Sundown?
Thanks in advance for anyone's input.
Best ported configuration for 2 x SA 8 v.2 in a 4-door sedan?
