ok so im buying a new car its a 08 dodge avenger sxt. and my 18 inch hdc3 will have to be sold saddly cuz i need a little trunk space lol. anyways im thinking about getting 6 8 inch RE REX8D4s mainly because i have a buddy that thinks size of subs matter and i wanna prove him wrong. anyone ever use these things? and do ya think itll be worth the time and money? thanks

well the amp turns on powers up fine. upon searching some more i realized my second batt was only putting 3 volts to the amp...so im charging that as we speak...i used it to start my truck one day and forgot to recharge it oops. i have a fosgate amp in there before and one day it quit working and went into protect mode and now that amp will turn on but wont put nuttin out so my friend gave me a autotek pos 2000 watt amp to use for now the amp and sub are brand new, the sub i know has power going to it cuz i probed the speaker wires with a dmm at the sub... im hoping maybe the low voltage on the second batt is the problem. but wouldnt it still put at least something out with only 3 volts? my rcas are good i checked them as well.
edit: sub is wired down to 1 ohm its a dvc 2 ohm. and yes amp is one ohm stable incase your wondering

ok so i have a audioque hdc3 18 inch sub its brand new i made a box wired it up and a friend gave me a amp to use thats also brand new and i cant figure out why this wont work...i wired my amp up and hooked the speaker wires to the amp. the amp is putting out power through the speaker wires but the sub isnt playing anything. its confusing the hell outta me ive never came across this problem. any ideas? oh and if you take a 9 volt battery and touch the speaker wires to it the sub moves so i dont understand it, any help is appretiated thanks again guys

It will work in the cavalier u just need to rewire everything check out jbody.org. if its a 3.8 supercharged it might be out of a Thunderbird supercoupe that was a common swap since I think it bolts right up.
its outta the gtp. and ive been talking to ppl on therangerstation.com and found out there are 4x4 trannys that will bolt to it. so its going in and im gonna do some mods on it first. underdrive pulleys better pulley for the supercharger heads and a mild cam. its gonna scream.

Won't work. That's a 90° engine and you can't just "turn It" like somebody said. if your thinking you can and just get the trans from a 3800 Camaro then your thinking wrong also, won't work.
how do ya figure? tell that to the guy on car domain that has it in his ranger and its working fine...so it can be done. if i cant get it to work im puttin it in a cavalier.

Is it a car engine? If so you probably wont be able to put it in a rwd truck. Might work if you wanted to have a fwd truck though.
yea its the engine from the pontiac gtps and it can be done. turn the engine longwise and it will be rear wheel drive. only problem im running into is motor and tranny are gm and my transfer case for my truck is ford...so idk how id hook up the 4x4....but having a supercharged ranger would be fun. keep a eye out for my new build too by the way i got a package today, 18 inch audioque hdc3

ok my brothers friends dad has a 3.8 with tranny and its supercharged and i have a ? im not sure of. if i baught that could i put it in my ranger? instead of the 302 swap i wanna do could the 3.8 be installed? he wants 200 for motor and trans.
anyone have some ideas?

well im looking at putting a 302 in my ranger to replace the gutless 3.0 v6. i know i need a tranny and the 302 with harness and computer plus motor mounts...but what else do i need to buy to make this work? and its 4x4 so i want to keep the 4x4 workable. i believe ill need a rear end too. anyone have any answers for me?? ive done motor swaps and built engines before but never converted from a v6 to a v8

ok you didnt state what you had so i just tossed that up there. box size should be around rec. aq specs and tuned to were you would prefer to tune it to depending on music
yea thats my bad..the aduioque website doesnt say what size enclosure i should use. so i figured you guys might have a idea. my guess would be 6-8 cubes prolly right? im gonna tune it low i love the low notes.

HDC3 is a nice sub. I have 4 18's. I am pretty happy with them.
damn! thats gotta be loud. any vids? id like to hear that.

by the way what size box should i put this beast in? and whats a good calculator to use to design the box? re audio is junk i wanna find a good one so i dont have to do the math by hand.

just remember even though it says said amount of power you will not see that. you will have voltage drop at full tilt with that amp i would suggest getting a nice battery for under the hood and one in the back wouldnt hurt and will help you in the future for bigger amps. also the big 3 will help to
big 3 is done i sent my alt out to be rebuilt to 250 amps i have a kinetik under the hood and a 600 in the back. it doesnt drop below 13 volts right now when i get the alt it deff wont.

I think it's a great choice for the price. Whether your running 1K to it or 3K it's still a great choice IMO
well i guess that solves that lol. but what size enclosure should i make for it? and im guessing they play low so ill tune it low.

ik lol. im only getting the copper coil tho. my birth sheet with the t1000.1bd said 1536w rms at 1 ohm. so thats decent till i can save for a bigger amp. any other subs that would be just as good or better for the price?

i have a rockford fosgate t1000.1bd amp so im gonna use that itll put out the 1000 rms or more it requires. im open to all suggestions tho i have a extended cab ranger. if that helps any.

ok i got my taxes back and im looking for a new sub. i was thinking about a hdc3 18" sub but idk what i should get so if ya guys dont mind giving me some opinions it would be appretiated. i havent had a 18 yet so im thinking thats the size i want. im gonna spend about 350 on the sub. i have other things to buy too. ( second battery wiring upgraded alt wood and so on )

I would go with a Q, as I LOVE mine.
I've heard a 15 SSD vs my 12 Q and I loved my Q way more.

They charge shipping on subs, but not amps, so you need to add it to your cart and calculate your shipping for the subs.
ok, but would a fi ssd fully loaded be better than a q with no options?

Either size, they are all right around the 300 mark though.

With that much power i would go with either fi bl or q. My personal preference would be the q for high xmax since i love low tuning.
i love low tuning too but im in a price range of 200-300 bucks....so i cant be going over that. got wood and shit to buy lol.
