not tryin to hate, but wouldnt he have to beat tommy to be ranked #1 in the world???
One bassrace round has nothing to do with the fact that his build is stronger (more efficient to be specific)
8 18s = less cone area then 24 12s
the astro peaks on a lower note (it takes more power to generate a score on a lower frequency)
the astro has less power (has not even seen 16V yet?!?!)
No disrespect to Tommy here he is a great guy and competitor.....just stating the facts.
-
What does he do max? I only ask because I remember The A Team doing 162.5(ish) at 36hz in their bass racer
-Drew
Impressive. 36hz is damn low!
Thats practically where I set up most daily boxes to peak at (for the true bassheads)
The max bassrace score has been around a 161 I believe. Based on some information I found out recently there a ton of gain left in the vehicle (far beyond a 162.5 with power and some recent changes)
-
8 solo X 18s in a 4th order
around a 2.5/1 ratio with the ported side
amps are the soundstream picasso line.
This has to be the loudest vehicle in the world at 40hz....if not I have yet to see one that is louder on such a low frequency.
One of his earlier designs damn near broke a 160 @ 25hz....insanity.
I gotta hand it to soundstream though here. I never was a big fan of their amps but after seeing what Steve and Bob Perillo have put them through I must say I am pretty impressed with the overall durability of the XXX line (mainly the 6500 and the 10K)
The new 15K is a HOGGGGGGG
-
eehhh a 169.9 ??? lols sorry i had too
that class doesn't exist but i'm sure it will eventually
-
And i JIZZED in my pants . ..dam good
The woofers are not even beginning to get warm after a run. Plays music all day and can get down low for a 4th....plays in the 159.9 class....what more could you ask for?
-
-
4th 159.9 in a row
burping 162 plus @ 40hz now?!?!
-
I was about say that it didn't look like the btl's in the wall, but you already answered what I was going to ask. You should put your subs for your Eclipse in there for a minute and see what it's capable of on a direct swap. It would be a good comparrison to do.
I have been thinking of trying that because the comparison would be good. My new 5200 drivers have a larger motor so they will have a higher reactive load but they are also dual 1 ohm coils so each amp will be a .5 instead of .7 like it is with the BTLs. Sens. on both drivers is pretty much the same.
-
NOW THAT IS CRAZYYY>>>> I WONDER HOW MUCH POWER YOU GOTTA SEE TO DO A HAIR TRICK LIKE THAT
that vehicle is very impressive
you don't see a ton of people doing big things with the new HCCA
-
As you guys can see in the vid one of my tc5200s is in the wall for now. I was rolling home one night after I sealed the truck off and one of the motors split clean in half while the sub was playing and the cone locked up. I paused it in time to save both coils. When the motor cracked it shifted. My guess is the crack was already started from shipping damage when they were ordered and it spread from the pressure inside the wall. I am trying to reach scott at FI car audio. If anyone can pm me with his info it was be greatly appreciated. If not....well this is the first time I have seen a wall crack a motor.......def. not likely though
-
how much power are the subs seeing??
I have not clamped them yet but there is a groundpounder 3000 on each driver wired to .7 on 4 kinetik 2400s
-
DAMN thtas some LOWWWS. that HU looked to be floating in the dash lol nice
haha it was
it reminds me of assmans van lol
-
I have busted ass in the last 4 days on Eds truck
30hz sounds nice for this being a wall with over 700 square inches of port
-
Mike, good luck with the build. Ed will be missed and as you know was a friend of mine too. I can't wait to see and hear this truck at some point this year. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the show that you guys are having in his memory. I'm going to do my best to come out and attend.
thanks man
look forward to it. Probst is coming out tonight and we are going to pull the woofers and make this thing stronger and seal it off to the vehicle.
-
What was Cause of death If you don't mind me asking...?
Ed had a drug relapse.
-
yes he was,
thanks man he would be so happy with the truck even just as it sits there is so much gain left. Given the power thats on the woofers and the gain left from bracing I could see this vehicle doing some impressive things.....and at 43hz! ouch!
I stopped by the shop and Burt wanted a demo

As all of you are aware the bass race community has lost a valuable member and close friend known as Ed Gardner. Myself as well as some other members of the db drag and bass race community have taken on the task of finishing the build for Ed being that it was so close to completion. The build consists of 4 Fi BTL 18's, 4 Crunch GP3000D's, and 3 Kinetik 2400's. We will be showcasing the vehicle at Eds memorial bassrace/db drag show on Saturday June 27th at HD Audio in Kent Ohio (evening show). Here is a link to a test video of the strongest score I could get the vehicle to do from just Eds work alone. Impressive work Ed...you will be missed!

Well damn.
Going to be at Taylor Show?
If I can get batteries
They are one backorder for maybe up to 2 months
-
hits.
that car is flexin like a bit*h
I am really impressed that the rear view mirror has survived this so far.
-
4 axis 15s in the box I built for SBN in the back of a Yukon XL on two SAZ3000Ds
154+ @ 39hz, enjoy
This vehicle will see 4 18's eventually
-
Jake
I had enough material on your vehicle this season so I put this video together for it,
hope you like it man.
-
I like the idea of one location
The whole purpose of finals to me was to compete against people I don't go against every month in my own region.
Its easy to tell everything revolves around Waynes pockets though...
-
that BOX has some serious flex! and sounds clean too
did you see the setup? is it really 12 12"s Pioneers in a sealed box?
nah he didn't open it up for me
when I was standing by the car the impala logo on it launched off
Steve Micks.......

Yea I think he should leave it how it sits.
Lmao ever since Kicker cut off team pricing he covered up the logos on the woofers so they just look blank.....what a huge kick in the nuts for kicker.
