  1. what amp did you have that was 2000 clean watts. im just curious cause thats impressive for an L7 :P

it was a kicker zx2500 wired at 1ohm i had the gain turned almost all the way down for a while then i just let the sucker go and it lasted about a minute or 2 on bass i love you -basstronics i am guessing on wattage i never clamped it but after impedence rise and voltage drop probaby between 1500-3000 i will never run another company other that dd or aq agian but for main stream i would defintly go kicker or memphis kicker may be cheap china but people under estimate them i still have my old round original solobaric s12d from back in the day you gotta love a 10+ year old .66 cube sealed box sub still takeing 500+watts daily and sounding good Knock on wood...

  2. They are, but even still 200 watts rms for a tweeter is nuts. And from what I hear (by a world finals winner) is that they can take every drop of power and play loud and clear. I know that peak is nothing to judge by, but when your talking about 1000 watts peak too a tweeter thats pretty nuts...

Yellow coned dd's I was looking at them long throws for a while now too, since im a dd fanboy myself, and the new designed dd's are sick, how do yours sound?

Im still kind of trying to figure out on what I want to spend and am kind of stuck between dd, focal, and morel for my mids and highs. But was almost thinking about going old school and getting some image dynamic horns

i run my LT's full range in a 1.25 cube enclosure with a 2x8 slot port tuned to 80hz sitting in between my front seats in my van powered off a kicker kx350.4 bridged each speaker seeing about 150-200 watts i love these speakers they get louder than any component set i have ever used and sound good while doing it they tend to want to pop just a little bit when cranked but only on low low stuff like lil jon ying yang twins etc. i have been very inpressed you being a DD user like myself will understand that they just have that DD magic lots of energy and the mids just hit you in the chest some of the first dpeakers i have ever used where you can hear the mids bass outside of the car atleast 5 feet + unless you are willing to build a enclosure or door pods i would recomend the regualr DD components they are just about on the same level but not as crazy and not as near as much mids more designed for a free air enviroment the LT's sound like poo free air

  3. is his/your amp clipping? t3 tsns dd9500-9900 can handle 4-5kw clean daily but if playing your shit full tilt all day is your mission i would do half the power per sub and just do double the amount of subs it is also very install based does'nt steve run a rockford t4000 on each btl thats like a clean 4200-5000 i ran 2000 clean watts to a 15l7 about 2 years ago it lasted about 4 months till i got cocky and it clipped and poof the magic smoke just make sure your signal is clean

  4. i live in northern california about 2 hours north of san fransico and one of my local shops in santa rosa who sells mostly jl and maybe a few other companies i got in a huge argument with one of the sales men we were practicly screaming at eachother he was saying that it was not possible to tune a ported box he kept telling me that you can put a port in a box but you cant tune it this guy was a idiot he also thinks w7 boat anchors are the best built thing under the sun he said my 9900 was some cheap built woofer when he heard the name digital designs of course never hearing of it he automaticly assumed it was some digital audio audiobahn crap when that is defintly not the case i just walked out santa rosa cartronics will not get my business or anyone i know i cannot stand shops that have a attitude and think that they already know everything

  5. go for DD you wont be dissapointed if you have the money and if you do get the dd's upgrade to the stiffer suspension and the composite cone making it a 9900 you will be so impressed and astounded by the sq and energy that these woofers make also if going the 4 15 route you might even want to look at the audioque hd3's

  6. ive touched a 158.8 at home at the dash with my windows down.....also did the same thing, touching 158's on a bassrace run (demo) with my window down at a show. Official score.....ummmm i havent competed in a long time so im not sure, but i dont really care i have too much fun doing "other" stuff at the shows, besides the lanes.

thats nuts do you think you will ever add more subs power/ something different? basicly are you happy or do you need more bass lol
  7. I sell a 06 xxx every week.

So sure people really do buy them,

    Are they that much better?

It moves more air than any other 12" sub in the world. Period.

Since bass is all about moving air that yeah its the best street bass 12" available.

i think re is a pretty good company but idk about that i dont think a 06 xx will outperform everything i am sure a 99z12 or even a 9912 would outperform it there is alot of good subs and companys out there i did think there is one that is better than all the rest

  8. you might have to be careful with that amount of power and box and port size tone the box down a little or tune higher you dont want to lose cone control you are definatly going to want to play around with loading the woofers

  9. tuning really depends on your musical preferance and your goal since you stated you would like daily and spl i would go removable port thats what i use on my boxes so you can have multiple tunes and it also makes it alot easier for testing
