  1. Heres some pics i promised.....the box will come out in a couple days to rhino line it. Please tell me what you think of the amp placement....i really liked it at first, now after seeing it the next day I dont like it. So I will have to make some kind of amp rack soon. i think its just asking for problems there. Im still running mids and highs off the deck....which you can imagine its not keeping up at all. I have a crunch 1400.4 that needs to be hooked up.

    BTW I couldnt believe how much that 0 gauge from alt to battery helped. I was at 13.7v and now im at a consistant 14.4v with spikes as high as 14.8v. I havent even done the ground yet it got to dark on me.

    I know the box looks like shit ...but i couldnt wait to finish it to hear it.I also wanted to make sure i didnt waste my time on a box that sounds like shit....but it doesnt!!!

  2. All i have to say is.......WOW.

    Noobtastic really out did himself....the box sounds great. We are stiil out there wiring up the second battery but i couldnt resist touch her to power and turning it up. I had 4 neiborghs at my house real quick wanting to hear it cuz they knew i have been working on it for a few days. I'll see what i can do ablout getting pics and vids up......

    BTW it was raping my rear window!!!!! :hairtrick:

  3. I have a Stinger SP800 that im in the process of installing in my current build. The battery hasnt been used in over a year. I pulled it out and the resting volts were 11.7v then I threw the charger on it overnite and now it rests at 12.28v. I could have sworn that it rested at like 12.7 before. That 12.2 seems a little low to me but im not sure....i just wanna know if it has a bad cell from sitting. I wanted to know if someone had experience with these batteries and could tell me if my volts should be a little higher or if thats about right. Heres a pic of the battery.

  4. Ok guys, here's my first build log...I hope you guys don't tear it apart. I've been messin around with car audio for years, but usually just little shit. The biggest system I had was 4 cvr 12's off a jbl 1200.1. I thought it was time to step up to the big boys and join the 18" club. The build will consist of 1 RE MT 18" off a Hifonics bxi1606d....which will be upgraded later. I gotta give the box design credit to Noobtastic. He did a great job and was very detailed. If you need a box designed he's ur guy. The specs of the box are 6.7cu ft @35hz 14.2sqin of port per cu ft. Here's a quick rundown of equipment I will be running:

    Deck: Eclipse CD 3421

    Mids and highs: Boston Acoustic in doors and dash

    Highs amp: Crunch GP1400.4

    Sub amp: Hifonics bxi1606d

    Sub: 18" RE MT

    Electrical: Stock alt, Autocraft 800cca/1000ca under hood, Stinger SP800 in back

    Wire: O Gauge Tsunami and Stinger

    Anyway, here's a pic of the area I have to work with...Im keeping it all in the cargo area.

    Dont ask about the crime scene in the back...lol. Its bleach. It will be covered by the box and equipment.

    Here's some of the equipment and wire...I got the hook up from my boy who works at Metra(they make Tsunami,Raptor, and a few other off names) as a distributor. He gave me 5 sets of rca's, 50ft of 0 gauge power wire and ground, fused power distribution blocks, ground distro blocks, battery terminals , 0 gauge ring terminals, misc. 4 gauge wire, 4 gauge terminals, and a bunch more shit for $60!!!!

  5. I just was at my local flea market and the last stand a dude had 2 cvr 12's for 150 and 2 atomic 12's and a Lanzar Optidrive 2500 for $75. Im looking for something for my girls intrepid so I bought the atomics and the optidrive. I got home and looked up the optidrive and now I know I got a pretty good deal but I dont know shit about Atomics. Are they any good. There in a cheesy bandpass...would they be better in sealed or ported?

    I went on ROE.com/ampguts and looked up the lanzar and it puts out 1000 watts at 4 ohms bridged!!!!!

    What do you guys think of my deal....2 atomic 12's and a Lanzar Optidrive 2500 for $75.

  6. Hydros are first choice because I have had them before and money wise. Ive priced air bags to hydros and bags are at least double before its all said and done. When I bought the pumps I also got 6 rams, hopping coils, hoses, and 4 dumps so im only missing a switch box, batteries and rack, solenoids, and rear mount. I guess ill let you know in a couple of day what i decide....im still doing some research on the net.

  7. Ok...my dad passed away in may and I was left his truck and im finally getting around to fixing it up. I just put a set of 20's on it and went and bought some hydraulic pumps but when I was buying them the guy threw in some thomas air compressors but I dont know the first thing about air bags. I looked up the compressors and they put out 150 psi each....but like I said I dont know anything about bags so I dont even know if thats enough. I dont know which way to go....bags seem like a much cleaner way to go but I have had juice before and its so much fun. So, let me know what you guys think? Bags or juice? Hows the wheels look? I got a hell of a deal $225 rims and tires!!!!! :shok:
