  1. this guy is a prime example of what i was. then my friend pulled up with 1 btl 18 and i was like dam. so now im selling everything and putting one 15" Kicker L7. my advice to u sell ur system and ur car and by an suv if u want four 15s. if not by one maybe 2 15's.

i can alwayz settle for less subs, but i wont sell the car, im a speed freak before a bass freak lol

and ill measure to see if i can get that box in there

  2. i know yall aint doggin it or nothin, but i think for what i got, its dam good

and i plan on doing just that, but id love to keep my current system, (its been thru hell and back, reliable)

but when i say it was a 2 person job, im saying because of how a mustang trunk is set up, not the weight of the system, i could bench press my subs lol, but me and my boy had to wiggle and jiggle

  3. my friend has the same system as you, 2 12in p2s in the custom rf box with an rf amp and either the people in your town dont know jack about audio or your just exaggerating your system but i guess since youre a noob to this car audio stuff you wont know loud till your hear it.

im not exagerating, its just that i live in clarksville, TN...there is only one system in town that ive heard thats louder than mine and the guy drives a ford explorer

but hes a d-boy, and i kno for a fact thats how he payed for it, sooooooo

but i dont have the RF box, i have a q-logic

  4. In your case, you don't have a big enough trunk to have air space separation. Are you going for a ported or sealed box? Side note: if you were to get say.. an btl 15 you would almost have to build the box in the trunk to get the required box volume.

i do plan on building at least part of the box in the trunk

what do you mean air space separation

im doing a sealed box, i prefer them

and im just doing it for a daily driver that will go to a cupla shows

im planing on RF T1 or T2's if that helps

  5. well thanks guys, currently i have 2 12s back there (fosgate P2's) and they hit like a mofo LOL!!!

but a quick question about airspace since it pertains to my next system build in it...

    say i have a 15 inch sub

the sub is facing straight up, i know i wont have much room vertically, but does it matter if the air space in the box is stretched out? i hope im making sense

like, say i the sub is 1 foot tall, and the box is 1 foot and a cuple inches, and it is supposed to be like 2ft or something (just random measurements)//// and its is supossed to be 20 inches wide, and i make it that wide/// and it is supposed to be 16 inches long, but instead of that, i make up the distance i cut out height wise, i add it to the 16 inches and still the the right box volume????

please help, im trying to make sense here lol

  6. ok, i got some question because ive never met, or built any 'super systems' i.e. meade's tahoe

im thinking of building a custom box in my trunk for 4 15's

do i need to build the box so that each of the subs is closed off to each other as in one box, and its sectioned off inside, or can they all be in just one open air box, and also

what happens if i dont build the box big enough so that it is not the recomended size (smaller) does that effect the sound quality, or loudness, id rater it sound better than just loudness

also its a 02 mustang, but after i build that, i plan on removing the back seats and adding 3 or 4 more 15s in a fiberglass enclosure, and i have NOOOOO idea wtf im doing then lol, but any halp on the trunk box will be appreciated =)

  7. yea you can use a computer power supply

you take a ground wire and touch it to the green wire in the big bundle of wires going to the 20 pin connector.

you can splice the 2 together and use the switch on the back of it to turn it on and off.

and then you dont use anything else off the 20 pin connector.

ok, but if i just connect the ground, then what do i use for my power wire?

sorry, but im not very good when it comes to things like this :(

  8. I have had a HeadUnit and a car amp and sub hooked up in the house before.

If you have a spare computer power supply laying around try to get picks and I'll tell you how to modify it to work for car stereo.

You can purchase a power supply from radio shack for $100 that is 13.8v and is a 25amp rating. Now worth it. Too much, bought one before I knew better.

You can get a 55amp computer power supply for $100.

If you need to know how to rip apart a Power Supply I'll show you.

are you talking about the actuatl power suply (inside the computer) or like, just the cable, cuz i have an old computer layin around i can use and i dont know how to take it apart

  9. hey guys, this is my first post, but i got a question or 4

ok, i already read about how to hook up subs in your house (plate amp if im right) but i want to hook up my car's head unit inside my house, and then i was going to hook up some 6x9s and such to that i know it can be done because even walmart does it for their displays just wondering how to hook up the head unit
