What do yall think about the infinity kappa mids and high speaker i hear there very good quality..
First question, and my first time working with component speakers (ran coaxials before) and using a 4 channel amp (always ran off the head unit.) Be gentle, as I'm in uncharted territory and learning as I go. I'm buying a used JL 320.4 (got a screaming deal on if from a guy at mazda3forums where I'm a mod; 60 rms x4 @4 ohms, 80 rms @2 ohms, 160 rms bridged @ 4 ohms), planning to bridge it to run my Infinity components in the front doors (Infinity 6030CS, 6.5" components rated for 90 watts rms.) I know I've got more power than I need with the JL amp bridged, but when you see a good deal on good equipment you jump on it is how I feel. The plan is to either run the rear speakers off the head unit or just disconnect them (stockers, and I don't sit in the back seat anyway.) My question is, JL specifically doesn't recomend running lower than a 4 ohm load bridged on this amp, which makes perfect sense to me, BUT Infinity at some point started this "true 4 ohm" bit where their speakers are actually less than a 4 ohm load figuring that the coil heating up and resistance from the wires will add some back in, making it safe to run straight off a head unit @ 4 ohms (so they say.) The question comes in that, will I actually see a 4 ohm load at the amp after the speaker wire ect., or am I going to send this amp straight into protect running too low a load for bridged operation? If I'm not giving enough information, just ask. I'm figuring worst case scenario, I'll just run two of the four channels, and leave the other two alone, but I figure if I have that power I may as well put it to use and underdrive the amp. If I'm thinking about this backwards, feel free to straighten me out. Like I said, I'm not a total car audio virgin, but I am stepping out of familiar territory on this install.
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. Just picked up my first infiniti. Got a m37x 2011 with the premium package (navigation, 10 speaker bose system etc). Now to my question, I am upgrading my stock audio system but keeping my stock headunit and would like to know what else is needed. So far I have purchased 1 Fi Q 12" 1 soundqubed Q1-2200D amp for my sub 2 6x9 Morel Tempo Ultras for my front doors 2 6.5" morel tempo ultras for my rear doors 1 infinity kappa four amp for my interiors 1 xs power d3400 battery (going to run this as my second battery in the trunk) 1. I am going to be putting this together myself. So my question is, how should I be running the wiring for my subs / interiors. Do I need line out converters or something like that to run from the factory amp to my aftermarket amp? Also do I need 2 of these, one for my sub amp and one for interior amp? Or is there a way to bypass the factory amp completely? 2. Other than the 2 front door speakers and rear door speakers, there are other miscellaneous speakers. one in the front dash, a sub in the rear dash, tweeters etc. If I just replaced the 4 speakers, what would happen to the other ones? If i use both my factory amp and line out converters [guessing that is what I need to run my aftermarket amps] would those speakers still be playing or just the ones connected to my aftermarket amp? 3. I had a clarion eq in my honda and it worked great. What would the process be like running it in this car with the stock headunit? and is it worth doing? 4. Should I purchase a cap.. or will this setup be fine without one. Last system I did my self was on a Honda . Much simpler with an aftermarket radio. Any tips to make this process simpler would be appreciated. And what else should be on my shopping list. Would I need something like this?? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_161LC8I/AudioControl-LC8i-Gray.html?tp=61671 Edit.. just read they're called sound processors . and i see some of them come with eq's such as http://www.crutchfield.com/p_161LCQ1G/AudioControl-LCQ-1-Gray.html?tp=2001&awkw=75719432665&awat=pla&awnw=g&awcr=48384099985&awdv=c . would something like this be recommended. or any other tips? thanks
my buddy has an 02 eclipse with the infinity sound system. we tried hooking up subs and i had every wire ran correctly but amp won't turn on. i suspect i have to bypass the infinity amp but was wondering how. all advice will help! thanks!
