  3. So i had a different build log with my 1999 Grand Prix. Transmission took a shit, so i'm starting my build on my new car! 2006 Ford Fivehundred Sel 160,xxx miles but all highway. Got this car for a really great price. I know it isn't the coolest looking car, but it is really nice, and for the price, i had to jump on it. Equipment: Head unit: Kenwood ddx371 Sub: Fi SP4 15 Sub Amp: SoundQubed 3500.1 Speaker Amp: Rockford Fosgate PBR300x2 Speakers: Rockford power 6x8's Battery: Kinetik HC1400 under the hood Alternator: Mechman 240A G series Here's the car: Console opened Bunch of stuff laying on the ground when car was taken apart Kenwood in And i actually just noticed the scratch on the wood above the hu. Damn lol pic with stinger volt meter Driver side where the power wire is. Forgot to take pictures, but remote wire, 2-channel, and 4-channel RCA ran in same spot, but passenger side. Here's the wire Under the hood: HC1400 Q-Mat on trunk lid Q-Mat on top of trunk Amp installed. (dont mind the black tape on ends of wires. fuse is taken out of power wire. its not hooked up because my alternator is bad and waiting for new one to be installed before i hook it up. just got it all ready to hook up Don't have a pic of the sub in the trunk, but here's the sub and box that is going in it. This is when it was in my Grand Prix That's all i have for now. Just waiting for my alternator, and to get it put in. Cant wait!!!!
  4. I've been working on this 96 blazer since last year, building it for SPL, I dont have a lot of pics from the start but I'm currently doing a rebuild using crescendo amps, subs, mids, and highs. I'm posting some of the pics I have from the start of it first The blazer has been used for comps by another guy before I got it, he used it in a no wall class, did a 156 with 4 15s, I bought it from a guy for $500 that bought it from the guy the original guy sold it to, yeah its been pasted around a few times. when I got it the blazer was not running, I had to do some work to the engine to get it running, ended up being the spider injectors, after that it had a wiring problem turned out it was the main power distribution block, it had melted to the point that it wasn't making a good connection. After all the fun mess I started a low power SPL class that didn't last long. Started with 3 Sundown Es I got six 12s and did a forthorder but couldn't find any pics of that so we'll move on to the rest. 12 120AH AGM batteries I had 6 Atomic 12s then got 6 more. here is a pic of the 12 12s in the forth Sorry I dont have any pics of this all being built I was just trying to get things done at the time. I will post some more pics when I get back home.
  5. whats up fam. so heres a quick run down of my system. not a trunk build, not a wall, just a simple ugly back seat build lol i am a construction electrician with my trunk almost always full with tools and material for work. only other spot to fit a sub box with out doing a wall is my back seat. i just need some bass! not really going for looks. ive had some pictures on what i had before (just went from a skar evl15 to a dc xl15 and sae1500 to a dc 2k) so here are some recent pics... hope you guys enjoy... i personally did the big3 with sky high 1/0 up front and ran power from front stock battery to rear full throttle group 34. messed up by getting a blue big 3 kit instead of red lol oh well. heres what it looked like before i swapped out the sae1500. the rest of the wiring was done by arden audio in sacramento. when i went home and did a lil inspection i have noticed the ground going to the 4ch amp was just self tapped in with 3 screws on the frame of the vehicle. wasnt too happy about it so instead of complaining i just went ahead and fixed it. both grounds are now sharing an existing grounding point directly under the driver seat. everything else was fine, thanks arden audio! and heres the box just sitting on the back seat haha
  6. Just wanted to share something I came across for those who like little touches to their builds. I'm sure theirs other brands that have similar products but these seem cool Full kit: http://skyhighcaraudio.com/sky-high-car-audio-speaker-location-heat-shrink-install-pack/ Tweeters: http://skyhighcaraudio.com/sky-high-car-audio-tweeter-location-heat-shrink-10-pack/ Speakers: http://skyhighcaraudio.com/sky-high-car-audio-speaker-location-heat-shrink-10-pack/
  7. Hello I recently aquired a Jl1000/1v1 with no manual. I have a Fi SSD 15" d2 wired down to 1ohm load. I've been having troubles with understanding this amp, because it has many different controls than what I'm used to. I was wondering if anyone has experience with a jl1000/1 amp could help me out. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  8. Backdrop: Sold the Explorer. I wanted something with a lil more custom options and this local deal came up So some of you may remember the bagged Silverado from Sky High. Logan sold it a guy here in BIsmarck who did absolutely NOTHING with it besides destroy a beautiful truck. It was then sold locally to a DD dealer and I snatched it up from him One of the alts on the truck was shot, compressor shot, and a leaking coalescer filter. I knew I had my hands full...But who wants something simple right? Anyways started getting into the truck and first up was the engine bay. Trying to figure out where all the wires were going to and coming from, marking the wires with color codes and labeling them correctly so I can remember when I replace the wire. First thing I notice is the belt wrap...Looked funky to me and the belt ended up tearing without a load on it so I thought odd...\ System will consist of 2 Singer 370 Elite Alts(4 next year) 4 Mclaren 8" Neos 1 Fosgate 750x for Doors 1 DD c5d for tweeters 1 Taramps 30k 6 XS Power 3000s 1 Limitless 100ah Flat wall for SPL Upon further inspection I noticed this.. Kinda hard to see but the belt wrap is definitely not supposed to go this way so I did some research and yep I was CORRECT and that is why that alt probably burned out. So found a correct diagram and saw a idler pulley was missing Anyways at this point I am a lil irritated. The guy who originally bought the truck said he was a "Master fabricator" and "Master audio tech" yeah your work tells me otherwise lol
