LoudNLow931 Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 So I was reading through the rules just because I'm kinda pissed about it right now... So If street class it says... "Pickup trucks: enclosure must not block any 2-way viewible glass. All equipment, excluding batteries, must be mounted in the cab of the truck. 1. Standard cab trucks: enclosure must fit behind seat in the most forward position. If aftermarket seats or factory replacement seats are added, and the factory brackets aren’t used, then the brackets to hold said seats down must be made to line up with the rear factory bolts as to not increase the area behind said seats. 2. Extended cab trucks: enclosure cannot extend past front door jams, but, factory jump seats may be removed 3. Quad/Crew cab, with 4 full size doors: the back seat must stay in, but enclosure may sit in seat." Now as you can read in extended cab trucks you can FULLY remove the rear seat or just sit the box on the seat and 4 Door trucks you can sit the box on the seat. Now where it pisses me off how the rules are dumb is that a 2 door suv(4 doors are a different story) are just like a extended cab truck. My folding down and putting my box over my back seat it basically the same thing as some one with a extended cab truck or 4 door truck setting their box on their seat. I understand thats the only place for them to put their box but the fact that extended cab trucks can FULLY remove the seat and 4 DOOR trucks can set the box on the seat is what pisses me off. Me having my rear seat folded down with the box on it is the same as an extended cab truck putting their box on the rear seat. There should be a rule for 2 door suvs just as there is for extended cab trucks or 4 doors. As long as the box stays below the window line and behind the doors I dont see any problem with them competing in sreet class? Now people are going to say "Well street is for daily drivers not SPL specific cars and if you cant use your rear seat its a SPL specific car etc etc" Now I could understand that if it was a 4 DOOR SUV but at the same time they allow a 4 DOOR truck to put their box on the rear seat but if you read the rules it says "Enclosure must be mounted behind rear seat. No portion of the enclosure may rest on the rear seat while in the fold down position. Any equipment mounted in areas other than the cargo area must be installed in such a way as to not interfere with the normal operation, function, seating, seating capacity, or leg room of the vehicle." So If that is true then why can a 4 door truck have the box sitting ON the rear seat? Does anyone agree that just because my truck is considered a "suv" and because my box sets on my folded down seat that its bullshit I get put in M4 with walls and crazy systems? If Im placed in that then why dont they follow their own rule of "Enclosure must be mounted behind rear seat. No portion of the enclosure may rest on the rear seat while in the fold down position. Any equipment mounted in areas other than the cargo area must be installed in such a way as to not interfere with the normal operation, function, seating, seating capacity, or leg room of the vehicle." for the 4 door trucks? idk, Alot of their rules make no sense at all. I know people are just going to say "Oh your just bitching because you cant compete and keep up with the walls" Well what do you expect my truck is not walled and tuned to 80hz lol. Just wanted to rant and get everybody's opinions on this, I am going to email MECA and at the next event explain all this to them, obviously they wont give a shit because rules are rules but the rules don't make sense. idk maybe I will stick with drive by.
