white4d96 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Share Posted March 15, 2011 I've been running quaker synt. And past year since I've used it. Its always running a quart or 2 low. So I stopped using syn. And regular hi mileage and I no longer run low. Hmmmm and I don't know y I noticed that I burn synthetic a little more than conventional, but my car seems to run better with the good stuff in it. I stay far away from high-mileage oils: the last time I put high mileage oil in (I believe it was the valvoline one, red bottle?) it leaked like a sieve and burned oil so much that I added the extra half quart after my first fill up, and 4 fillups later (barely 1200 miles altogether) it was low. Switched back to full-synthetic and no leaks, not as much burning. I go through that quart and a half in about 3k (although it's down some now that I have a leaky valve cover gasket...
