First box built, thumping hard( pics included) and bottoming out..plz help

Recommended Posts

My subs are bottoming out.

I did some research and i think my port is to blame. there is not enough pressure... So im thinking of re doing it.

What are your thoughts, should i make it smaller opening or longer port?

Might even make the box smaller

Also i dont think im over powering them, got a kicker zx 750 and subs rated at 550rms each. Amp is not tuned to its max potential either.

Thanks

if your subs are bottoming out its mostly likely your port, its too big.. you need to cut down on the size of the port and then you can decide on the length of the port. when i say cut down on the size im talking about the opening of the vent. the length of the port is what determines you tuning of the box i dont think(: and you also might be driving them to hard but i doubt it
