alternator and voltage problem

Resurrecting an old post here, because I see that the OP is still active - Did you ever resolve this? It is an issue common to all e46's, and has been the subject of much discussion on the e46 Forums. But no one seems to know the source of the issue, so I am interested in knowing if you resolved it. I also was looking for e46 owners who had a Singer alternator, which is how I stumbled on this post. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for your Singer alternator? Did you submit him an alternator to modify, or does he supply them? I have a brand new one that I was going to install, but now I am interested in buying one of these, rather than a stock replacement. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
