Okay, so thank you for the help guys. I'm going to pull the trigger on doing the big three and sound deaden the truck. I have a few questions for it though, the big three. I have heard it done different ways, is one way better than the other?

1 way is

- on the battery to the frame

+ on the battery to the alt

and a ground cable attached to the alternator chassis and grounded to the frame

2 way is

-on the battery to the frame

+ on the battery to the alt

and then a ground ran from the block to the negative on the battery terminal.

Essentially they seem to be the same but is one a little better over the other?

The ground cable ran from the block/or alt chassis to the negative on the battery terminal seems like i could get away with buying less wire but that adds a break in the current rather than one sold cable from the alt chassis to the frame. Am over thinking it?

On the fuse, i only said 300 in case i ever want to get a HO alt, at say 270 amps or so, that way i didn't have to buy another fuse.

For sound deadener is Knukonceptz deadener any good? Do i need to look for a certain kind (CCF or CLD)?

For deadener I'd look into anything that is butyl based to last the longest. A lot of the cheaper ones are cement based and don't hold up to the elements that well. That stuff goes on sale from time to time.

Something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/FatMat-Self-Adhesive-MegaMat-Deadener-Install/dp/B003TVA28C/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1432936235&sr=8-3&keywords=fatmat+mega+mat

If you are going to fuse, fuse it correctly and just get a 150A fuse and buy the bigger fuse later if you need it.

I would consider an AGM battery. Northstar if you have a dealer near you, otherwise, XS Power.

A 1 farad capacitor can help your system, I'd look into that as well.
