david in germany
I just reinstalled a pair of JBL MS-A series amps into my BMW 118I but have an issue with the start stop causing the amps to shut down when that car restarts. I have tried grounding directly to the battery and added a 1.5F cap without success. Has anyone had any issues like this with a car with start stop? My next idea is trying to track down a Batcap 400 or similar if I can find one to test. Last option will be installing a set of Fosgate PBR amps that I have which I know don't have the low voltage issues. Any input is appreciated. david in germany
Just wanted to follow up on this. Problem is fixed! After driving with the start stop deactivated and switching to a set of Fosgate PBR amps I still had the issues with the start stop on. I also tried 3 1.5farad caps and still had the issue. I bit the bullet and ordered a batcap 300 and installed it. Now all is good. Start stop is functioning as it should and no matter how hard I am pushing the system it keeps going on start.
