rckstar
1. Does the Volume entered in the program , include port volume or do I still need to take into account for port displacemant 2. When designing a vented box, is it the voulme of the port vs the volume of the box to yield a certain frequency or is the port shape more critical? Thanks Quote my motto: hit it, quit it, never admit it
loburbon
for the airspace volume you need to put in the airspace after sub and port. port volume is directly related to box volume. port length is where you get your tuning Quote 2000 gmc yukon 4 sundown Zv3 15's 4 dd m2a's kenwood kdc-x994 2 batcap 4000's 1 batcap 2000 dual alts. 154@37hz and climbing http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3231683 http://www.myspace.com/torque150
rckstar
okay...so all i have to do is work out the Net internal airspace volume taking into account sub diplacement and bracing, then just add the port area time the lenght to that volume?? I thought WinIsd took into account the sub displacement when u enter the driver parameters? loburbon
everytime i use it i work in the sub displacement, and it comes out spot on. and i use it bout ten times a week. aznboi3644
WinISD does not account for anything...the volume is net and the port volume does not affect the net volume.
loburbon
Ok I believe that is what I said. aznboi3644
port volume is more affected by tuning and port area than just box volume alone.
loburbon
port volume is port area plus length. you have to have a certain port area for any given box volume. and the port length is also dependent on the port area of the box. in other words it depends on the shape and size of your port to get your length. different port shapes mean different port volumes. aznboi3644 i can see where your coming from, i worded my original answer wrong. i know what i was tryin to type, but i typed the wrong word instead Edited May 27, 2009 by loburbon Quote 2000 gmc yukon 4 sundown Zv3 15's 4 dd m2a's kenwood kdc-x994 2 batcap 4000's 1 batcap 2000 dual alts. 154@37hz and climbing http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3231683 http://www.myspace.com/torque150
