dannyp
Hi all, thought id post up how my build is coming along its taking its time as bills are killing my money atm, went from a tiny 300 rms sub to something a little bigger so hopefully can start hit higher figures let the pictures show my car: (yes i know bonnet is open) and now the install running a JBL 1200.1 monoblock amp bought from a mate for a good price I then had the amp but nothing to put the power to as i had blown the coils in my old sub So i went about buying a DC level 4 15" from Terry (focus_boy) due to a little bit of overspray on the sub which i wanted sorted and a couple of other things i got it reconed by dave (direct ice/ matrix audio designs) to a level 4 XL which was a nice new upgrade and also got a custom RED dustcap for it, so to match the car Dave also went about building my a ported 3.5 cuft box for the car as i didnt have a box sufficient Fully installed in the new box in the back of the car (sorry about the pic, sun decided to shine lol) After testing the sub for a max of 15 minutes we realised that electrical power was a problem so first of all we changed all the wiring from 6/8 gauge to 4 gauge which gave a nice improvement (new wiring in amp - red wire old spec) after wanting to have more power to go louder we upgraded my front battery as at quarter bolume power was dropping to 9.97v which was worrying got this baby installed not to long ago So this is how everything stands at the moment, in talks with dave at the moment with getting engine grounds upgrade to 0 gauge and the front speakers amped from my spare amp and then onto comps/tweeters upgrade and here is the DC box sticker and my new dust cap which i love look to be getting big three/ 2nd battery and front speakers amped from secondary amp in next month or two as just getting some funds together then going down bigger alt and sound deadening thanks for looking comments welcome Quote Dan Plummer - 1x DC sounds Level4 15" - 800wrms - 3.5 cuft Ported Box - Rover 25 Peak= 142.2dB @ 40Hz 40Hz= 142.2dB 33Hz= 139.6dB 25Hz= 136.8dB 20Hz= 136.1dB
