rboudreaux77
ever since i got my sub (which i love btw) i noticed at higher frequencies i hear a buzzing noise and it sounds like its coming from the dustcap. could it possibly be loose or something? i have a JL 1000/1 on it now and i think i have the low pass filter around 55-65Hz is that maybe too high for the sub? oldschool
I would say the dustcap is loose but it would make that noise all the time hmmm pull the sub and double check it make sure everything looks good and if so check the enclosure I had a box that 1 time made that sound around tuning I thought it was the sub come to find out the port wall had broke in a spot and was vibrating bad. Slappin F150
I usually keep my high pass filters lowww, since I play a lot of decaf/bigpimpin I like the lows. 25ish hz is where I keep mine. And high pass filter around 80hz. Also, on the back of the cone , above the leads there should be two "pads", if yours arent there, your leads could be smacking the cone. That happened to my level 4 and buzzed like hell until Rusty sent me the pads. rboudreaux77
i was listening to a song at work that i was hearing the noise with and i popped the trunk and left everything the same and listened and its not the sub its just the trunk or back deck making the noise lol. i thought it was the sub cause it sounded like when you put you fingernail on the dustcap and let it bounce on it. my bad i feel dumb but relieved i didnt have a prob with my sub Quote http://www.dcsoundlab.com/ 2008 Chevy Impala (Daily Driver) Pioneer touchscreen w/navi 1 DC XL 15" (around 4cuft ported box) 1 AQ2200 1 AQ90x4 Memphis MClass 6.5s (front doors) Memphis MClass 6x9s (rear deck) stock alt & front batt; 1 Red top in the trunk 139.2db sealed (on my old JL1000/1) 140.0db outlaw (on my old JL1000/1) 1992 Chevy S-10 Ext cab.
