Ok, so first off, i'm new here.... been checking out the forum for a while, and finally decided to join.

here's the info on my build:

its a 1999 montero sport, that i've owned since 2002. its bagged, with two memphis 15's in a 6 cu ft box tuned to 40hz, being pushed by a memphis 1000 watt d class amp... 5 tv's total (2 headreasts, 2 visors, 7" touchscreen kenwood navi) ... i did the first build about 5 years ago, but unfortunately, due to me being in the military, i ended up having to leave her sitting in jersey for 3 years while i moved around, and got deployed... i finally picked her back up a couple weeks ago.... so, LET THE REBUILD BEGIN!

here's a video of what i'm starting out from

as for the plans for her... here goes the LONG list:

air ride:

ARP 1/2" valve manifold, for full fbss

new air bags : slam specialists ss-5's in the front, and ss-7's in the rear

possible notch to the frame? ... not sure on that one yet

add second viar 350c compressor

new control arms, and drop spindles

new plumbing, wiiring, and just general clean up of the whole system

audio:

2 re sx 18's in a 16 cu ft box, tuned to 29 hz

amps.... still deciding on... any suggestions? (remember i am on somewhat of a budget for the whole re-build)

componets... still trying to figure out for sure.. but i'm thinking of 2 dls x-sp 62 in each door, with a fosgate 8" mid

car-puter running windows 7 with a 10" touchscreen glassed into the dash

4 optimum red tops (3 in the rear, one in front)

2/0 gauge wiring all the way around

new H.O. alternator (still trying to find one for a montero sport, might have to do some custom fabbing)

thats the major updates that will be happening first... of course i will be doin body work/paint, and all kinds of other little things... but i wont drudge on about all of those.

let me know what you think

current build:

99 bagged montero sport

subs: 4 AQ HDC3 18's, walled in a clamshell box

amps: subs- 2 modded AQ 2200's, running 2550 at 1 ohm each

components: (rf p1 8:(midbass), 2 cadence cwm 6.5, memphis pr 6.5 coax)- each door

HU: android galaxy tablet, Kenwood KVT-516

2/0 gauge ran all around

6 optima red tops (will be updated, i get them DIRT cheap)

keeping my fingers crossed for membership into the 160 db club!

Red tops arent really a good battery for car audio. If you still want to stick with Optimas i suggest going with Yellow Tops.

i would... but i can get them pretty much for free where i work at... if i went with xs, i would only need 3 batteries, but thats why i'm going with 4 red tops

Just remember with running those 4 batts off a stock alt ur gonna have to recharge more often, and since they arent Deep Cycle batts, i think, the constant charge and discharge will not make them last as long. I might be wrong.

good point... i'm still trying to find a new high output alternator that will fit the montero sport... if not i will prolly have to fab a custom mount for one

so, a little update for you guys... i've only been able to work on the truck for about an hour each day this week, due to work and other obligations, but here's what i've managed so far ....

i tore out all the old valves and plumbing...

nu24b.JPG

pretty fucking nasty after 5 years... i was running 8 valves, 3/8's in the front, and 1/4's in the back...

but the good news is that they will be replaced by this...

p95fu.JPG

an ARP 1/2" manifold... 4 2 way valves, for full fbss.

i also managed to re weld the broken bracket, run the switchbox wiring, and some other small things...

i'll have a video of the completed bag rebuild up by this weekend, but just wanted to give you a quick update

ok, so i finally got the rebuild of the air system pretty much done...

and here's a short clip of me testing out the new system... i'll get a better video tomorrow

as far as the rest of the build... ed at t3 is probably going to be hooking me up with 8 t1000 15's .... so that is the next major step...

stay tuned for more updates, as this rebuild has just begun... i'm going to try to make it mainly a video build... so there will probably be alot of videos of what is done.

Ever give an edc any thought? Shit is fast and you can play continuously without much pressure loss. Otherwise looks good but you were saying you want to go a little lower and I don't see that happening with your mono leaf and not notching the frame. Not sure about your front setup, I cant see it to well in the video but looks like some 2x2 square as your upper bag brackets which is causing you inches. If you cut out the spring pocket and get some bag cups you could get a lot lower in the front.

Since were all having a moment of truth.

I hate country too..

I'd only listen to it if I got some hotass bitch in my car and shes gonna suck my dick.

you actually pretty much read my mind about alot of things...

the rear, i'm going to go to a mini notch with a parallel 4 link setup and a pan hard bar...

and the front, i'm going to cup it... i just have to get the time to fab up the cups... since no one makes shit for the montero... i'll have to get a universal kit and fab it...

as far as the edc goes... i was thinking about doing it... but, one... i know it would prolly be a hell of a job to get one to fit under the hood... and, two, i plan on running atleast 2 alt's for the system, so i'm not sure about it yet... still a good option tho
