  1. Ok, Mprete is on the right track. I currently have NO power anywhere, its dark obviously but tomorrow I'll be checking the voltage at the starter. I noticed that on these taurus' that all of my power (except for my power wire to back batt) is ran to the solenoid on the starter, from there it goes up to the fuse box. So tomorrow I'll be checking that wire as well. It just sucks having my window stuck down exposing my headunit, amp, xs batt, and sub to whoever walks by...I won't sleep tonight lol. Thank you all for the help and I'll let you all know how tomorrow goes.

  2. I pulled both batts and charged them for a bit but when I put them back in I noticed I have absolutely NO power to my car. Lights won't turn on or anything. So now I'm thinkin fuse? I checked all except the bigger square ones, I don't really know how to check those since there's no visual spot of the fuse, just a cube of plastic

  3. So I woke up this morning to head to class, got in my car and my car turns over a couple of times and then nothing.....dead. So I went inside and grabbed my fluke to see what voltage my batts were at, the front batt read 12.4 v and the back read 12.8. I had a friend try to jump me anyways and my car wouldn't even turn over, any ideas?

  4. Are you able to take the belt off without messing with the tensioner? If so then it has to be too loose, I can't get mine off without cranking on the tensioner. My alt burned out when I first put my system in, I bought a 120 amp replacement. I checked it the other day and at idle it puts out the same amount as when its reved at 1500 rpms...104ish amps

  5. Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll take some pics with my droid here in a sec and upload them tonight. The box ended up being tuned to about 29 hz as a result of a mistake on my part. I measured my trunk again and the usable space I have is 39 inches wide, 18 tall, and forever deep (40+ in) if I were to seal it from the trunk and port through the deck, I might as well go with two fifteens, yeah? Could someone help me out with a box design to port through the rear deck?

  6. I'm running my fifteen in my Ford Taurus right now, the owner of a local shop metered it with the TL and I was doing 139.9 at 35 hz. He was saying that was about as loud as I can get with my car. I was wanting to sell my fifteen and start running two twelve Fi BTL's or something of the equivalent. The shop owner was telling me the only way it'd be louder was if I fired the subs forward and sealed them from the rest of the trunk. Is he right? Would I not get any louder?

  7. The original question asked if two sealed fifteens are going to give me more performance than my single ported fifteen. I know fifteens ported would be louder, but this is in a trunk car and I wouldn't be able to make the box big enough unless I fired them forward with an aero going through the rear deck, which I don't want to do. That's why I was asking about two sealed fifteens, not ported. Each sub would get 1500 watts, so I would be doubling the number of watts I have now. I didn't mean to be an ass, his answer just seemed rather smart-ass to me, thank you to those who helped out though!

  8. Okay, so compare that "piece of shit" car to my 04 Taurus. I'm willing to bet things are a little more....tight...on mine. Sure...flex doesn't necessarily relate to loudness. But it's hard to describe loudness to someone over a computer without a TL, which I have no access to. Everyone's opinion is different as far as what 'loud' is. So flex is just a reference or an aid in giving him an answer.
