  1. Ok, Mprete is on the right track. I currently have NO power anywhere, its dark obviously but tomorrow I'll be checking the voltage at the starter. I noticed that on these taurus' that all of my power (except for my power wire to back batt) is ran to the solenoid on the starter, from there it goes up to the fuse box. So tomorrow I'll be checking that wire as well. It just sucks having my window stuck down exposing my headunit, amp, xs batt, and sub to whoever walks by...I won't sleep tonight lol. Thank you all for the help and I'll let you all know how tomorrow goes.
  2. I pulled both batts and charged them for a bit but when I put them back in I noticed I have absolutely NO power to my car. Lights won't turn on or anything. So now I'm thinkin fuse? I checked all except the bigger square ones, I don't really know how to check those since there's no visual spot of the fuse, just a cube of plastic
  3. So I woke up this morning to head to class, got in my car and my car turns over a couple of times and then nothing.....dead. So I went inside and grabbed my fluke to see what voltage my batts were at, the front batt read 12.4 v and the back read 12.8. I had a friend try to jump me anyways and my car wouldn't even turn over, any ideas?
  4. It would only take one of those......right through the back window, should set off any alarm. You could probably set off house alarms as well
  5. If you've got the money, space, and elecrical get 2 XL 15's. Sorry....double post
  6. If you've got the money, space, and elecrical get 2 XL 15's.
  7. Are you able to take the belt off without messing with the tensioner? If so then it has to be too loose, I can't get mine off without cranking on the tensioner. My alt burned out when I first put my system in, I bought a 120 amp replacement. I checked it the other day and at idle it puts out the same amount as when its reved at 1500 rpms...104ish amps
  8. I'm in torrington wyoming....7500 people, 9 or 10 stop lights, 3 gas stations, 3 bars.....oh and a new prison haha! My girlfiend, who lives in lyman nebreaska, 111 people, no stop lights, 1 gas station, 1 bar...small town girls know how to get down though
  9. Good deal! I called and talked to Rusty about price quotes and threw in this question as well. He recommended the XL's as well. Awesome guy, great customer service, he's got my business for sure
  10. Hey guys, which subs would run better with 2000 watts? XL or lvl 5? I've been reading that the lvl 5's can take pretty much all the power you can throw their way when done so in a respectable and safe manner...
  11. Ok Im liking the idea of building a new box and porting it through the rear deck...the only problem is I have no idea how I'd tune this box...can someone please help me out!?
  12. Lol no worries, Orion. I've faced the sub forward before, there was a decress in how 'loud' it was to the ear...when it comes to porting it through the rear deck, would I use an aero or two?
  13. Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll take some pics with my droid here in a sec and upload them tonight. The box ended up being tuned to about 29 hz as a result of a mistake on my part. I measured my trunk again and the usable space I have is 39 inches wide, 18 tall, and forever deep (40+ in) if I were to seal it from the trunk and port through the deck, I might as well go with two fifteens, yeah? Could someone help me out with a box design to port through the rear deck?
  14. I'm running my fifteen in my Ford Taurus right now, the owner of a local shop metered it with the TL and I was doing 139.9 at 35 hz. He was saying that was about as loud as I can get with my car. I was wanting to sell my fifteen and start running two twelve Fi BTL's or something of the equivalent. The shop owner was telling me the only way it'd be louder was if I fired the subs forward and sealed them from the rest of the trunk. Is he right? Would I not get any louder?
  15. The original question asked if two sealed fifteens are going to give me more performance than my single ported fifteen. I know fifteens ported would be louder, but this is in a trunk car and I wouldn't be able to make the box big enough unless I fired them forward with an aero going through the rear deck, which I don't want to do. That's why I was asking about two sealed fifteens, not ported. Each sub would get 1500 watts, so I would be doubling the number of watts I have now. I didn't mean to be an ass, his answer just seemed rather smart-ass to me, thank you to those who helped out though!
  16. No shit...would some body please give me their two cents?
  17. Quick question...I've got my single 15" Fi BL in a 4.6 cube box, tuned to 30 hz and I love it but I'm wanting more. Would two fifteens in a sealed box be noticably louder than my current set up?
  18. How accurate is that RE calc? Won't the sub displacement throw the tunning off?
  19. Matt is an awesome guy! He called me back after I tried to call him but no answer and we had a a good 30 minute convo talking about different options, answering all of my questions, etc. Great guy, EXCELENT customer service, can't wait to buy from him.
  20. Hey I know your sale ends on 4-29-09. Between this paycheck and my next paycheck, I'd be able to get one of these. The only bad thing is....my next paycheck after this isn't till 4-30-09. Could you spare me an extra day or two with the sale?
  21. At least you stay strong with your team, usmc! And pitbull....FUCK YOU bro! Haha, just kidding; Texas vs. OU was one hell of a game
  22. Boomer Sooner. Oklahoma kicked ass today against Kansas State 58-35! Who are your guys' favorite NCAA football teams?
  23. Damn, I wish I would've saved my birthsheet! I remember the wattage was 1511w. Efficiency was 80.xxx% for my RF T10001.bd. I haven't had the amp all that long, so the numbers are fresh in the memory.
  24. Okay, so compare that "piece of shit" car to my 04 Taurus. I'm willing to bet things are a little more....tight...on mine. Sure...flex doesn't necessarily relate to loudness. But it's hard to describe loudness to someone over a computer without a TL, which I have no access to. Everyone's opinion is different as far as what 'loud' is. So flex is just a reference or an aid in giving him an answer.
