what does it take to get a 18 volt system?

i have a 1975 caprice convertible heres my dimensions... 60"W x 17"H x 35"D

i saw in a thread on another forum that if you have a subwoofers in a convertible you will lose 85% of your sound with the top down..how true is that? and will it help if the subs is facing towards the cabin

i had a xx-herc. on two L7 15's and it worked good...i sold it to a guy that put it on four cvr 12's and blowed all four of them lol...they newer live better than the older line? and are they over or under rated?

if ran at .5 ohms will they still suck alot of current?

i heard that amp wasnt to good to run for daily play

i just want to be different and memphis and kicker it like the top dog over here what are some other good choices for something two power two btl'15

the main reason i sold it because i want to go with something that no one has heard of where i live because everybody have fosgate,kicker,or memphis mostly all the big name companies

i sold my t40001 today to my wifes brother and im looking at a new amp..well the IA 40.1 anyway. 1.How much does these things going for? 2.what kind of power plant will i need to run two of these monsters? 3.are they more powerful than the t40001? 4.How good are they for daily abuse?
