I do have pics but maybe I can just explain it a little better. I was wanting to build a box to have 4 5.25's in it. The box would be small and stick above the rear seat by 5 inches or so. high enough that the speaker would not be muffled by the back of the seat. The speakers would be facing the dash. any better explaining?

I built the box and it turned out to be 4 cubic feet which is almost ideal for the subs, I ported it with four 2 inch ports 7 inches long. tuned to 32hz. it sounds ok... but it still doesnt sound loud enough.... it has to be 139db but far from what I was hoping....

How Many Ohms, 2.7 Or 1?
god_speed36 replied to god_speed36's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
So I should wire them parallel? the amp is 1Ohm stable. I was just worried about the subs being 300rms each. There wired 2.7 ohms now and dont sound the greatest...... -
I have 3 JL audio 10's, dual 4ohm voice coils, they are rated at 300rms each. I have a Memphis 16MCD1000 amp. There wired in series at 2.7 Ohm, everyone is telling me that I should run them at 1ohm parallel, my amp would be putting out 1100rms. Should I?

well..... should I port it or not? what sounds best in a firebird? which way should they fire?
-
The rear firing box was set up so the box was just as tall as the back seat 6" or 7" tall by like 37" wide, 37" long and down in the trunk area 12" or so. The subs were actually in the trunk firing towards the tail lights only 6" from the back. The theory behind it was so the sound could " pre-load" and fire up front off the back window. The subs were only visible when the hatch was open. does that make any since?

I have three JL Audio 10’s, and I need some ideas and designs for a box in a Firebird Formula. Preferably a ported box. I have seen two types that could potentially work. 1.) Is where the subs fire towards the tail lights and the box sits behind the back seat in the window 2.) The box sits in the trunk area and fire with the same angle of the back window. Any ideas?
