put 4 new Crunch 5.25's in a row behind the rear seat, in a new box.. it doesnt sound to bad now
-
should I put them in the doors down by my feet or in the back seat area right behind my head? also... are Hifonics comps ok speakers?
-
Ok, I will narrow this down a bit. 2 6.5in Hifonics components in the doors or 4 5.25in, Hifonics 2 ways?

I do have pics but maybe I can just explain it a little better. I was wanting to build a box to have 4 5.25's in it. The box would be small and stick above the rear seat by 5 inches or so. high enough that the speaker would not be muffled by the back of the seat. The speakers would be facing the dash. any better explaining?

I have a 1993 firebird, and I was thinking about putting 4, 5.25's right behind the back seat and just above it so they would fire towards the front of the car.

Are you running a second amp to door speakers ???
yes I was planning to amp them

I have to much bass, and cant hear the words to the song. So im looking for new speakers, what is the difference between components, 3-way, 2-way? coaxials?what do I Need?

I built the box and it turned out to be 4 cubic feet which is almost ideal for the subs, I ported it with four 2 inch ports 7 inches long. tuned to 32hz. it sounds ok... but it still doesnt sound loud enough.... it has to be 139db but far from what I was hoping....
-
So I should wire them parallel? the amp is 1Ohm stable. I was just worried about the subs being 300rms each. There wired 2.7 ohms now and dont sound the greatest......

I have 3 JL audio 10's, dual 4ohm voice coils, they are rated at 300rms each. I have a Memphis 16MCD1000 amp. There wired in series at 2.7 Ohm, everyone is telling me that I should run them at 1ohm parallel, my amp would be putting out 1100rms. Should I?

well..... should I port it or not? what sounds best in a firebird? which way should they fire?
-
yea theres a trunk space just right for a 10in box tho
The rear firing box was set up so the box was just as tall as the back seat 6" or 7" tall by like 37" wide, 37" long and down in the trunk area 12" or so. The subs were actually in the trunk firing towards the tail lights only 6" from the back. The theory behind it was so the sound could " pre-load" and fire up front off the back window. The subs were only visible when the hatch was open. does that make any since?

what year
?
1993

I have three JL Audio 10’s, and I need some ideas and designs for a box in a Firebird Formula. Preferably a ported box. I have seen two types that could potentially work. 1.) Is where the subs fire towards the tail lights and the box sits behind the back seat in the window 2.) The box sits in the trunk area and fire with the same angle of the back window. Any ideas?

yeah... spent all the time building the box and making it look niceand I never thought that they would overpower everything else so much. It sounds like an orchestra in the back... its loud, and clear.. but im not sure if I should have put them in the doors. should I?
